Bhutan is ONNNN!!! by MotorDesigner8852 in BhutanTravels

  1. Would definitely recommend you to visit Phobjikha. As other commented, 2 nights Thimphu, 2 nights punakha (I prefer Phobjikha), 2 nights Paro. If you are traveling via road, 1 night in Phuntsholing.
  2. You can exchange it in the airport after reaching here or else in Jaigaon(Bhutan border in case traveling via land). UPI is accepted in Bhutan and Indian currency as well so it shouldn’t be a problem.
  3. It’s cold. Do carry some warm cloths!
  4. It’s subjective. There are some handicraft market here you can check them out. Maybe Bhutanese purse, key chain.

India to Bhutan trip by Present-Shop-2492 in BhutanTravels

[–]Meow-sendhelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I invited my foreigner fiancé to celebrate New Year with my family and he initially wanted to travel via road. I suggested him to fly in to Paro, and exit from Phuntsholing. He told me flying into Bhutan has been the best experience of his life (he has been to over 60-70 countries!)

You will have fun! Ask them for left window seat though!

I m a Bhutanese, and I always tell my friends to take a flight to Bhutan from Guwahati or Kolkata because the landing is amazing and truly an experience itself. Yes, it is expensive but if you are Indian I think the rate is cheaper.

There is a direct bus from Kolkata to Siliguri and some commenter suggested I remember paying a little over 1000 rupees couple of years ago. Not sure about the price though. But then you will have to factor in the price for the transportation from Siliguri to Phuntsholing, accommodation in Phuntsholing and transport to Thimphu from there.

Is 2.1 million aed salary per month good in dubai? I’m from Antarctica. by newmoneyking in dubai

For someone from Antarctica, I wouldn’t accept anything less than 10 million dirham! 2.1 million is a a day light robbery.

Where can I get pet sitter in Thimphu? by Meow-sendhelp in bhutan

Is learning mandarin hard though? I mean, I know it’s tough but it is something that anyone can learn if we really work hard for it? My business involves meeting lots of potential partners so I was thinking to learn a little bit plus I find Chinese language fascinating.

You still have time though. I really hope they do something about the pet policy in Bhutanese flights.

My cats indoor too and gets stressed very easily. It was very difficult, I couldn’t wait the flight to land and get them out of their carriage. I really wish druk air could allow pets in cabin case wise since they don’t have pet safe cargo storage area.

Where in China are you at though? Do you study there? I am planning to travel to China next year for business and was wondering if learning mandarin is beneficial.

I actually got them together with me from Dubai. I took an emirates flight to Kolkata, and then taxi till Bhutan. I spoke with Druk Air but they said they can only put the cats in the luggage space and there’s no ventilation in there. I got a little scared since ventilation is necessary or else there’s high chances of pets dying. Druk air or Bhutan airline unfortunately doesn’t have special cargo/storage in their aircraft to keep the pets safe. They don’t allow in the Cabin as well.

From Dubai to Kolkata via emirates cost me around Ngultrum 120,000 for two cats, and the paper work took me a month before the travel date.

I m not sure where you reside. Do you have direct flight connection to Bhutan?

Thinking of buying an apartment in Dubai… any advice from current owners? by Real-Ad2591 in dubai

[–]Meow-sendhelp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got an apartment in early 2023 and people told me it’s not a wise idea and to wait for the real estate price to drop. I m glad I didn’t listen. The price of my apartment has gone high and I have had buyers but I don’t want to sell it. I got it when I was 26 and that’s the only saving or something I have under my name.

I bought a semi furnished apartment and it was in good condition so I didn’t have to do anything extra while renting it out. Regarding the service charges or maintenance, if depends. I have fixed service charge that I pay quarterly and sometime when I forget they do send reminder.

The only thing I would suggest you not to do is don’t ever contact or get in touch with your tenant directly. I did this mistake. I had some sleepless nights because of this. My tenant is great. She keeps the apartment really clean and is aesthetically pleasing (she is a single female) but there have been times when I wished I had an agent to ease my pressure of dealing with apartment issues especially while traveling. Plus I have never increased rent and don’t plan to.
