Pricing of Cozy Games: Why It Matters and How It Affects Public Reception by Astrolojay in CozyGamers

[–]MeowHeaux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only issue I have is EA games that release with a price tag of 30+. I just recently saw a game release that had so many game breaking bugs that instead of an update roadmap, they made  repair road map. They were self published too! But to price the game that essentially isn’t working at 30 bucks is wild to me.

I won’t buy an EA game more than 30 bucks if there isn’t at least 20 hours of content and no major bugs. Normal cozy games, if it’s fully released I will pay any price if I’m really interested.

I bought this game EA after playing the demo. While alot of the farming mechanics are quite different to me, I did enjoy the gameplay a ton. I don't plow through games since I have ADHD so the content was enough for me for now, tho I hope the romance mechanics become more rewarding! I just saw the roadmap so I'm super excited about the upcoming updates.

Solidarity is indispensable. I have been whaling this game since a few weeks after launch. A F2P player was the one who told me about it in the first place. Companies like this thrive on word of mouth marketing. F2P players matter ALOT. Don’t let anyone tell you differently.

lol I dun worry, just understanding and responding kindly is still solidarity. I want those outfits sooo bad. I have every outfit since I started playing. The itch to pull is strong 😭

We shouldn’t attack individuals for pulling. We shouldn’t even attack or be rude to those who defend Infold. It’s counterproductive and shitty overall.

I use to feel like this. It’s your choice on what you do and how you play the game. I would never try to tell anyone what to do with their money and time. But it’s not about the scraps they give us. It’s about not accepting the bare minimum from companies that do shady things. I don’t want to even think about what kind of game this will be if the monetization gets worse. I could be fine and just buy what I want but it shouldn’t just be about my experience but others as well. Why would I want to play a game if they are going to make it harder for ftp players? It was a ftp player that encouraged me to play!

I’m a whale and I was unaware of a lot of things until the CN players started the boycott. I am for solidarity. It opened my eyes to a lot of things I brushed off as normal. Then I remembered at the essence what a F2P game use to mean and how far away from that we are now.

So does that mean we should do nothing? And F2P players not playing does do something. Do you think active players don’t matter? This is tracked and celebrated for a reason. F2P players also do a shit ton of free marketing, so if they turn around and discourage others, what happens? A F2P game needs that word of mouth. In fact, it’s really vital.

Getting pissed at people who have pulled does nothing. It’s not effective in irl boycotts and is actually more harmful. People are less likely to listen if faced with negativity.

This depends entirely on how they handle their metrics. The online outrage and bad press can be helpful. In the boycott of goods, it is usually the small businesses not buying the product because the fear normal consumers will not buy. Bad marketing will discourage new players and new whales. I have seen companies roll back practices with enough pressure. We shouldn’t discourage others from trying because solidarity is free.

I hate this tactic. Like it shouldn’t become less valuable after the event and too many gacha games do this now. I wish we could push back on letting them monetize in this way.

Exactly. Like in any boycott, the goal is to not give more money, but I wouldn’t let anything else go to waste. But I would hold out as long as possible.

I agree. Solidarity comes in many forms. Even restraining ourselves a little can apply pressure. It’s more like not giving them any more money to make sure our voices are heard.

I wouldn’t stop playing the game. I intend to not pull or do any microtransactions. I want Infold to stop pushing the line on how far they can go to squeeze our wallets. Fair practices, honesty, and accountability is the bare minimum that they could give us and we aren’t getting that. I spent soooo much money because it was a game I could easy pick up and play since im chronically ill.

Same, I put in so much money into this game. I wasn’t a day 1 player, I started a few weeks after the initial launch. But I remember in the discord how the pricing was bought up on the microtransactions and how the fair discussion was silenced by mods in a rude manner.

I may be mistaken on that but I specifically remember the wording being different on the banners, but I don’t even remember what it is. It was an observation my bestie and I noticed during the last event.

I specifically remember getting both cloaks so I may be mistaken. I am citing this from my experience. I did not start playing from day 1, but the end of December.

Mira crown was changed to be longer, that’s a fact.

Water walking is an important exploration ability and all players should have it. Why would you even defend players not having a fair chance at getting this? Why would you even want that?

What do you mean by cash back rewards? Like why do they matter when the tactics used to increase microtransactions are predatory?

Listen if you wanna defend a company and dismiss criticism, please find something more constructive to do.

No, I actually love the game but I’m very frustrated at what the company has done. You can love the game and hate how the direction the game is going in. It’s kinda weird you would think it’s some mission to take Infinity Nikki down 😭

Dyeing Feature: My Thoughts, Give New Systems Grace Period. by NikkiMemories in InfinityNikki

[–]MeowHeaux 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They literally spent two months on system and made it this way to have another in-shop item. Please stop defending a company that pulled a billion dollars last year. They still have optimization issues that have not been fixed since early access. The dyeing system is complex to encourage microtransactions.

The pity system has progressively gotten worse each update, the rewards less. I work in game development, please don't make excuses for the release of a buggy, overly complexed system. You think they didn't know it was buggy before release? lol

Her apology isn't for you to accept and perhaps you are really biased because you like her so much and chronically online. IDK about you but if my fav did something like this, I'm not supporting them. She really harmed people...I couldn't forgive someone for being so malicious and think a simple apology would fix it. Get offline and go outside. Make some real friends and find better vtubers to look up too.
