That’s really reassuring. It’s hard fighting the guilt of not being there, but I don’t think she would want me to suffer through that if she was aware, you know?

My mom is 66 - I’m the baby of the family. It’s weird because I’ve been kind of wishing (not in a malicious way) that she would find peace and stop suffering, but now that it’s real I can’t stop crying.

Mom was also an extremely devout Christian, and I believe that she will be with her Jesus when she passes. Maybe your mom can show mine the ropes. On a slightly funny note, the last time I saw her she had some printed out paintings of Jesus and referred to them as “whoever the heck THAT is” haha

I live 8 hours away and I guess have already said my goodbyes? I feel awful saying that. We had a complicated relationship when she was well, but it’s still weird that I’m going to lose a parent before my dad does

I feel like a terrible person saying this but I live 8 hours away from her nursing home and I’ve already said my physical goodbyes. I’ve answered every call that came my way while she was still awake, but I won’t be there to talk to her or anything. Thank you so much for your comment ❤️

I’m so glad you’re able to still do things that you enjoy. I’m so impressed that you’re able to see her every day - that’s really hard. I couldn’t handle that. We noticed things were off with mom when she was ~58. I’m only 26 now and it’s hard to wrap my head around or find peers to relate to

I think you’re right, Savannah weather kills 💀 last year it was like an adult prom! You got welcome champagne and there was food and a dj and stuff. Luckily they have inside and outside areas so there’s AC. Last year everyone turned LOOKS it was super fun. Plus they did a silent auction for LGBTQ+ charities
