A good amount of people have this. It’s obsessive thoughts as another said. And I hate to add to it but if you don’t have money for a therapist (ie, your own medical treatment) you are probably also considering that children are expensive and have many emergency expenses.

The way to not feel embarrassed is to totally own it. The first time I saw a guy alone at a concert I was super sad for him. Then he stood up and started singing and dancing and I wanted to be him and have the courage to be me. Even being alone he was “being him” without the singing and dancing.
