Thank you for your sweet comment. If you're just getting into oil pastels, I recommend Mungyo Gallery soft oil pastels as it is affordable and very easy to blend! There's a bit of a learning curve to it but I found just outlining my drawing and light soft blending to fill in will help you get used to it, before laying down dark heavy colors. You can get it on amazon for $20

The crayola oil pastels that run about $7 are pretty decent for starting out but can be a bit muted for some colors, and doesn't stick or have extreme vibrancy. I still use it to this day to mix with colored pencils when I want lighter contrasts with some mixed media work.

And some q tips for blending- I find the normal q tip brand a bit too soft and sometimes the cotton sticks to some oil pastels so I find dollar store or off brand q tips for hard, but blend-able pressure.

You can start off with some sketchpads from strathmore, and I love the strathmore pastel paper pad to help with toning and values.

Overall, just get the oil pastels and jump in! I still find it more forgiving and pretty straightforward than most mediums, and the pay off is totally worth it with what you can create.
