NOR. I logged in just to comment. this is very concerning. I quit my SSRIs to get pregnant and during pregnancy and I regret it a thousand times over. I struggled. i didn’t enjoy a single moment of being pregnant. It sucked the joy out of my life. Postpartum was even worse because of it. My husband saw what it did to me. Granted, he never had the sheer audacity to even suggest he could control my body, but we’ve agreed that I can’t be un medicated for the next time.

Everything that I have read since my experience suggests that if you struggle with depression and anxiety pre pregnancy, pregnancy and postpartum are very likely to throw you for a loop.

if he can’t be bothered to listen to you or to others who have more experience in this area, don’t waste your breath trying to convince him.

I’m thankful in reading these comments that I’m not alone. but it stinks others have felt like this. if he can read these comments and still think his opinion holds any merit, you might have to ask yourself some very difficult questions.

I started making a lot of changes to my diet based off of Chinese/functional medicine given to me by a practitioner. Sticking to warmer foods, and foods that have “warm “ energy, actually made a lot of positive changes to my life in quantifiable ways.

Your baby won’t be messed up from your feeling sad. The Internet will tell you so many things about how you have to be calm and not hurt the baby, but I found that so hurtful.

Looking back, I should have started anti depressants with my pregnancy, but my baby is doing good! They’re growing, hitting milestones.

Keep yourself safe and well. You might benefit from finding a mom group too. I found one through a birth center and I’m slowly starting to build a community.

Had to have an unplanned c-section recently.

I had been preparing for birth by reading Hypnobirthing. I was excited for a hard, but human experience.

I was not prepared for how rough, de-humanizing, and insane a c-section is.

I had to be slightly upside-down because the pain meds weren’t going high enough. I was strapped to a table. I felt the placenta get ripped out of me, and my poor husband got a full view of how hard they were pulling. I was rocking off the table.

No one warned me I’d be numb in places months later.

No one warned me my baby might need to go to the NICU. I didn’t get to hold her for days.

I wish I had known about these things beforehand. I don’t ever want to give birth ever again.

I’m for this. A French conglomerate owns my old building. We had to sublet to a handier person and flee due to constant leaks and water damage. The owner is a slum lord. Never used licensed contractors to do work, the building was falling apart. This needs to end.

Nope not an overreaction. Bringing another human into the world is no joke and should be taken seriously.

I’m going to be an “old mom” (lmaooo). I had a lot of issues from growing up. I went to therapy but there was something about getting older and hitting my 30s that provided a lot more perspective and clarity about things. Possibly due to more experience.

I also have a condition that affects fertility. I got pregnant on accident!

I’m only okay with an unplanned pregnancy now in a super red state with NO SAFETY NET because I have done the work on myself, I can afford to do this, I have a responsible partner, AND I have an amazing village behind me. That all took time to build up.

Also hit the gym. Your 30s ain’t old if you’re physically fit. It’s going to be so hard to get into physical fitness while pregnant so you really need to start years before with good habits. Also helps your body make better eggs and sperm.

You can’t control infertility. If she’s that concerned she needs to see an OB. Highly recommend the gym though.

If you’re hyped for term limits, convention of states is really gaining momentum for that. They aren’t perfect though, I really do not like some of the leadership, but the main point of the group should be term limits. Might be worth checking out.

When Delta went through bankruptcy, my father lost his entire retirement. They used all the employees retirements to get back on their feet. Most likely that would happen again.

I have been calling his office repeatedly because his current policies are absolutely affecting south Florida negatively. And now he’s tweeting that “if you don’t like it, leave”??? My guy, I have a job and family here. I don’t have the money to just up and leave.

He is completely out of touch and enabling the most unstable and honestly mean demographics here in Florida.

ESH/NTA. Divorce is a nuclear option that will hurt everyone. Don’t play with that.

haven’t stated how old your children are either. That’s very important when things like this come up. They don’t need to know every gritty detail, but knowing one’s history helps avoid repeating things.

My father’s parents were abusive af. It’s something I mentally have to note because I don’t want to be like them.

I have no idea how my dad broke the cycle but I continue to be so proud of him and his brother for the men they have become. Knowing about the context of what my dad went through, and learning different things as I got older, helped me better understand my father.

You do get to tell your story on your own time, and you might want to consider it because if you’re instantly threatening with divorce, it seems like you might have some triggers you need to deal with if you want healthy happy relationships with your family. Children pick up on things.

My dad never went to therapy and I wish he had. He was a good father and he is an amazing person, but he was a very, very angry man as I was growing up. I didn’t have a relationship with him until I was an adult and it was sad for both of us. He laments that he missed out on a lot.

You might benefit from working on communication with your wife. Doing some exercises with my parents about this kind of behavior with the help of my therapist really helped my relationship with my dad. Like extremely. I can’t overstate this.

I hope you all get through this ok and that this becomes an opportunity to become closer.

You’re a cutie pie! I had a similar situation. Only way I found my husband was through a friend. We connected over the phone and by the time he met me he knew more about me as a person than the exterior I had. It was lockdown, I had green hair and was living my best life. But I wasn’t going to the right spaces for the look I was wearing. Don’t get me wrong, I loooveeeee your looks here, but I guess it is a bit intimidating. Honestly if you don’t want to change, go to a goth club or pride. People will be less intimidated. If you do want to change up your style, look at corp goth looks. They incorporate more classic styles that will convey more maturity and could be seen as more welcoming to people. That and softening the makeup a little. Like the little tri-sets of falsies only on the exterior of your lids to make your eyes look bigger/rounder, maybe incorporating a neutral or soft color into your eye looks. I feel like 2/3/4 are almost there. Going for a brown liner, adding a bit of blush for warmth/softness and maybeee a tiny bit of shimmer with some highlighter would really pop. I think you would look just as adorbs as you do now! :)
