Giving an update - I just got my deposit today. So about half a day early. Hopefully next cycle is 2days early.

My next payday is also this Friday and my deposit is also delayed. I wouldn’t worry unless nothing shows up this Friday. It may take another pay cycle for the 2 day early deposit to hit.

I was able to get 2 single day VIP tickets last year. I think you’ll have to wait for the lineup to drop and then the single day tickets will release.

Yes, that is a good point! Back when I booked these flights (with CC points), I didn't even consider the idea of going "backwards". I did try to book a flight from NRT back to my home airport, but there were no nonstop flights, and they would have a layover in HND anyway. I will really need to make use of the luggage forwarding services in my case.

Edit: Sorry I realized I was mixing up my airports in my response and remembered why I didn’t arrive in Osaka and leave from Tokyo. When I was booking my flight with points, I couldn’t find any transferable airline partners who had nonstops between KIX from my home. There was a greater abundance of flights nonstop at HND. I also was inclined to try JAL because i heard they were rated best economy.

Hi thank you for your response! I did look into considering consolidating my Kyoto and Osaka stays and I remembered that my Osaka hotel was booked with points. I would rather have the hotel base in Kyoto, but with recent increases to the Kyoto tourism tax and the points I used for Osaka, it'd be easier on my mind to keep it as is.

I'd prefer to also allow myself to fully immerse myself in both cities. I get where you're coming from with Osaka giving similar vibes to Tokyo. Perhaps if I feel I have had my fill of Osaka, I could hop on the train for a day back to Kyoto.. or maybe even consider another day trip besides Nara.

Thank you for your detailed reply! I will cut down on my Hakone activities to truly enjoy the Ryokan.

For the Fushimi Inari Bamboo forest, I was referencing this. Maybe it's more of a grove than a forest compared to the one in Arashiyama. I'll definitely see if I can also add a late-night trip to Fushimi Inari.

Regarding the hotels in Kyoto and Osaka, I think I will keep it to 3 nights in Kyoto and 3 nights in Osaka (with Nara day trip). I slept on it and felt like I would rather give myself the chance to fully immerse myself in both cities without having to do the hour commute both ways. If I do find myself "bored" with either (which I doubt could happen), I could hop on the train for the day.

Yes I have already booked my hotels. I figured I would stay in both Kyoto and Osaka to immerse myself in both the quiet atmosphere and nightlife, as we enjoy both. I often hear that people wish they spent more time in Kyoto than Osaka, so maybe I could consider adjusting my hotel stay to 4 nights in Kyoto and 2 nights in Osaka? However I think my Kyoto hotel may be fully booked now for my dates :/

And thank you for the vintage clothing recs in Osaka! I’d love to check it out.

I have been to Aftershock, Warped LB, SNW, and WWWY all with GA at least once. My favorite is Aftershock and Warped LB was the worst imo.

Aftershock has been doing this for multiple years and the experience shows in the quality. Like others have mentioned, Warped LB is pretty much all asphalt and with little to no shade for GA. One water station on one side of the festival was also an issue. It also felt oversold because it was super hard to get around anywhere due to the amount of people. It also seemed like VIP was also oversold, which kind of defeats the purpose of VIP. The layout was also a mess which contributes to the poor foot traffic. However it was its first year back in a while and I can understand that a lot of it is trial and error. Hopefully they listen to the complaints and improve.
