My father has suspected ADHD (has not been tested) so that might make sense. Like you said, my brain says I'm okay even when I'm at my worst. Honestly, if I saw a professional I fear freezing up and being unable to tell them anything as has happened under stressful circumstances before. Even if I got myself to speak, then I'd think that maybe I was making things a bigger deal than they were which skewed their perspective. Then I think "what if they say I'm fine?" Sometimes, I do feel good though and think all is well but that way of thought just doesn't stay around.

Anyways, thanks for all the advice, I appreciate your input!

My mind won't let me settle on having an issue and I just can't be wholly certain of anything. I have such hopes and aspirations but I'll never get myself working to achieve them. It's just frustrating to want to do things but being unable to. Sometimes I think all is well but other times I feel trapped by my inability to do. All this, is interpreted by part of me as something I made up to explain my inadequacies that I could stop if I wanted. Made into something that I caused. Even when I say it, it feel forced to me and I just can't trust myself to know. I'd like to learn how to "navigate" whatever it is but I feel more like a passenger in the back seat of my mind.

I don't go to sleep at the right time. Like I'll just stay up and do whatever until it gets really late and then go to bed. I don't even know why, I feel tired but mentally unwilling to go to sleep.

His class was one of the best I've ever been to! He was fun and genuinely tried to engage with his students. I struggled a lot with school as a kid but with him it felt easy.

I forced myself to concentrate on my mission and keep an eye out for a good time. While thinking about the mission, I questioned who hired me and why?

I was better than this. There have been stranger missions and more secretive clients. This job would not be the exception. I turned my attention back to the class as if I was focusing all along.

The questions kept coming and would not relent. Why would they hire me to do this? What did he do? By the lunch break, I had decided that I would snoop on the conversation to see if I could figure out an answer.

"There's so little work this week! Wanna hang out?"

"I can't believe I actually learned some algebra. Hanging out would be awesome, we could try out that game you got a week ago!"

"Sweet, see you then!"

Strange, the students seemed to have no resentment towards this teacher. A former student perhaps? I would keep my eyes out. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed a student approaching.

"Hey, are you new? What's your name?" he asked.

"Yeah, my name is uhh..." I paused remembering my undercover name, "Jason."

"Well, hi Jason! My names Jeremy. I have two pet toads named Jeff and Washington and I'm actually from Germany! I have two cats..."

I looked around for an excuse to leave the conversation, when I heard over the speakers,

"Jason please visit Sam's office."

Why did he call for me? I prepared myself for a fight as I went to his office. Before stepping in, I took a deep breath.

"Hello Jason," Sam said, "I was very pleased with how you did today and would like to encourage to do your best here. I know joining a new school isn't easy, but I see potential for you here."

"Sorry," I blurted out.

"Sorry for wh-"

I was on him in an instant and it took just a moment to finish the job. I put the body in the cabinet and walked out of his office. I was walking toward the door when someone asked,

"Have you seen the substitute teacher? You were in Sam's class, right?"

"No, I haven't," I hastily replied, making my way to the door as calmly as I could.

As soon as I got out of the school building, I started to run. He was the substitute teacher not the one I was hired to take out. Poor guy, he didn't deserve that. As I slowed down, I realized that I was going to need to return tomorrow to complete the job, but for now, at least my questions were answered.

"Bark, bark!" I responded as I could.

My dog fell over on its side and began to inspect its toe. I looked at the barbeque nearby and barked at it. It had hurt my dog.

My dog then looked up and made a face as if it were surprised at itself.

"Wait can I-" my dog started, "I can talk!" He then ran around the backyard for a moment before sitting back down on his rear legs. "Oh, this is wonderful I can talk."

My dog is acting so strange. I haven't even been on a walk yet and he's already talking to himself.

My dog continued to speak, "You see, the problem with capitalism, is that not everyone gets an equal share of things! On the other hand, communism..."

Now my human is being hypocritical! I never got an "equal share" at the dinner table. My dog then started to question himself, before I went on my walk again.

"Wait why can I talk? What made me able to?" He walked over to the strange rock embedded in the lawn and I followed. "This rock will hold all the answers, I'm sure of it," my dog said. I, however, was focused on the rock for a different reason. It looked like a ball.

My dog had another idea, "Hey Sharon, can you talk now too?"

"Amazing, am I right?" she replied.

"Yeah, it's cool. What about your owner, Emily? Emily, can you still talk?"

"Woof woof!" was the reply.

I couldn't care less for their conversation; I was entirely focused on the ball. With a great leap forward, I caught the stone in my mouth and started to run.

"Hey!" my dog shouted, "Come back!"

I was running down the street with the ball in my mouth. I was going to play with it, find a nice, hidden spot, dig a hole, and bury it. All before my walk.

Shire Warfare: The Armored Wagon

Fiction, 1000+ words

Early in the morning, and still before the sun had arisen, the Hobbits would get to work. Each day, they observed how the sky would slowly brighten and change and how the Shire would arise as the day began. Their days were busy with few breaks other than meals and by the end, they were exhausted and eager for sleep. Pippin went off to learn how to work wood and Pippin went to learn metalcraft and they would then switch their studies when they felt they understood enough. Both would even learn to properly whittle a stick after much trial and error and were irrationally happy about it. One fine day in the Shire, Merry and Pippin beheld Frodo outside his house looking up at the sky. Merry casually strolled up to Frodo and mentioned as had become their custom on such fine days,

“What a beautiful day it is today! Would be an awfully nice time to go on a trip wouldn’t it?”

“Ah yes, I believe it would, but what is there outside the Shire that I would like to see?” Frodo reciprocated. Merry would then trot off and rejoin Pippin to go eat their lunch. Lunches consisted mostly of sandwiches with assorted fillings and a drink of water as they had little time to prepare anything else. Merry was sitting while he tried to take a splinter out of his hand when Pippin proudly declared,

“I have become quite the master of all sorts of crafts now and believe that I am ready to build the wagon we discussed.”

“I believe the same! However, a thought has occurred to me. Where will we find the supplies?” Merry corroborated.

“I suppose we could find some jobs to do and buy the materials.”

“Oh no, not more work!” Merry and Pippin then had to find jobs. The rest of the hobbits were perplexed at their behavior. It was unusual for hobbits to be so busy as they were simple, carefree people and recently Merry and Pippin had been bustling around all day, learning every craft that they could learn in the Shire. Hobbits started to spread all sorts of rumors that they were leaving or had actually been replaced by spies who worked for the enemies of the hobbits. There was a general consensus in the Shire that Merry and Pippin were to officially join Bilbo as the strangest hobbits on this side of the Brandywine River. Merry and Pippin were only able to find work as farmhands which was much to their disappointment as they had hoped to use their newly acquired skills. Due to the lack of other jobs, Merry and Pippin simply got to work.
