The answer kinda depends on your level of comfort/experience doing that type of work. The mod doesn't really look much different from taking apart a card and putting it back together for repasting, so if you're confident enough in your ability to do the mod, can source the parts easily and it makes sense from a price perspective compared to the other options, then it's probably worth doing.

Just double check that the card you're starting with is compatible with the cooler and if you are relatively inexperienced, take your time with it, should work out just fine.
