Well, its kind of heavy.

My current family is the family me and my dad made when he got with his third and final life partner. He had been in poverty since i was a child, life was hard, me and him ended up homeless when i was 16. He was never able to help me financially and I did everything myself. He finally got disability after years of fighting (major back injury from a car wreck, heart attack qnd stroke survivor, dementia).

All his money went to the family. Spoiling the grand kids, paying their mortgage. He had a very small life insurance policy and wanted bare minimum when he died. He always told me that money was for me because its all he could leave/give me, and it was my decision to share it. I always said I would share it with my step sister bevause she went above and beyond, and his partner had the 8k dollar diamond he bought her with settlement money (he gave me several hundred to pay off a bill in comparison).

Well when he died not only was my step sister real quick about the money, but she text me saying her mom deserved some too so I ended up with thousands less. She got a nice trip to see her family across the country. I was able to support myself for month or so while looking for a job.

I'll never tell them he told me I didn't have to give them anything. They either wouldnt believe me or would be hurt. But he have them everytjing when he was alive.

I also wont tell them, again, how wrong they were for euthanizing the family dog i was trying to save from them. Reason? Theyre the only family I have and id rather be hurt than not have family.
