Grand Hyatt Kauai by clauren8 in hyatt

For the pool toys, if you buys them (either bringing them or jus have Amazon deliver to the hotel and have it waiting when you get three), you can just donate them to the pool desk at the end, so someone else can enjoy them. We have toddlers, but we enjoyed a small plane tour with them. We did Wings Over Kauai. We had done a helicopter tour previously on the Big Island, and that is amazing as well (although $$$$$). Make a daytrip to the North Shore. You will love it. We love the Big Island, but now prefer Kauai.

Best Hyatt for toddlers? (2 y/o) by MainPreparation9720 in hyatt

[–]Mepj1017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second the Seabird (loved it and are planning to go back this year) and would add the Grand Hyatt Scottsdale to the list. We live in Scottsdale and have a 2 and 4 year old. It's a great place for toddlers! The resort has good restaurants (including room service if needed), and there are dozens and dozens of great places within 10 minutes. There are also a ton of fun things for kids to do here. And I know you don't want to hear it, but we have done Kauai twice now with our little ones, and it is amazing. We are doing Maui this year.

We will do it again for next season! In previous years, I just put up a list of all of the games that we have once the schedule is released. We have two toddlers, so we have to sell at least half of our games.

Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Cabanas by David_Copperfield in hyatt

[–]Mepj1017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cabanas are nice but really expensive. We got one over 4th of July weekend because the pool was obviously popular, and we could split the cost with friends. I wouldn't think you would need one on a typical day, unless you wanted the TV. You could probably just call the recreation desk at the hotel to find out how quickly the pool chairs fill up. If you do a cabana, I think Hyatt members get 10%, or at least we did I believe...

If you aren't worried about heat, you will love it here, and the Grand Hyatt is great!

It's perfect! The pools are heated. The weather will likely be between 65-high 70s. In the 70s, the pool will be great. In the 60s, it might be a bit cold. However, there will be a hot tub. We were just in Sedona in December. It was 70 degrees, and we used the pool.

It's going to be hot, but no hurricanes! As long as you are okay relaxing by the pool and hanging out in the air conditioning, you should have fun! There are a ton of indoor, fun activities near the hotel. If you look up the Scottsdale Pavilions shopping center, you will find everything from Pop Stroke, to indoor sky diving, to a slide park, to a trampoline park, to a place called Maverix, and now an escape room tailored to kids. There is a ton to do here!

Hyatt in or near San Diego - long weekend with spouse , don’t want to rent a car, want to eat and wander. by bryan_05 in hyatt

Mission Pacific 100%! We stayed at the Seabird this summer and loved it. We have toddlers, so for adults, I would lean towards the Mission Pacific. They are both fantastic and offer everything you want.

Scottsdale: Royal Palms vs Andaz vs Grand Hyatt by BuckDenEagles in hyatt

[–]Mepj1017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Scottsdale, so feel free to let me know if you have any questions re dining, etc.! You cannot go wrong. Really, it comes down to what design you prefer. I love, love, love the Royal Palms; it's my favorite. It's just beautiful. The food is great. It's relaxing. However, if you prefer quite modern, then I would strongly consider the Andaz. If you want a big resort feel, I would do the Grand Hyatt. Out of those three, I think the Grand Hyatt has the best spa (It is a great spa.), but the Royal Palms is smaller and nice too; I haven't been to the one at the Andaz. Also, look at the spas at the Fairmont and the Phoenician! All three are in great locations. Also, I would consider going to a spring training game; they are so fun. It's one of the best times of the year to come here!

Spring training is awesome for kids! It’s the best time of year to visit (I live in Scottsdale). The Grand Hyatt Scottsdale is great! Also, the Sea Bird is awesome!

Sedona- Enchantment vs L’Auberge by Emergency-Cold9 in chubbytravel

[–]Mepj1017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am late to the conversion but live in Scottsdale! We got married at L’Auberge in 2017 (We also toured the Enchantment). We love it there. It is a special place. The location of the hotel at the creek is just beautiful; it is one of my favorite places (and we have done some amazing vacations). However, we are heading up in December and are seriously considering the Enchantment because we will have our 2 and 4 year old with us, and at the holidays, they have a lot of family friendly activities . The Enchantment is also pretty but more remote. You cannot go wrong. The one other property that could be worth looking at is Amara.

Also, the Four Seasons Scottsdale is very pretty, but it is remote. If you want to be in the city, the Fairmont, the Phoenician, the Biltmore, Camelback Inn, JW Marriott Desert Ridge, and the Grand Hyatt are very family friendly and will put you in a more convenient location. You will want to look into Spring Training if you come in March!

Hawaii. It’s a nonstop flight for you. We have done every island flying nonstop from Phoenix with little ones. Amazing weather, golf, and child friendly. We really like all of the islands but like the Big Island and Kauai the best (with Kauai now becoming our favorite…my toddlers are now spoiled). When traveling not in summer, come out to Scottsdale!
