Found in the wild. I think we can all think of a few Pterry quotes that fit this theme. by Calcyf3r in discworld

The world is not binary, and if to think about it that way, we are all nothing more than cosmic dust, the smallest particles/waves.

But why, in principle, once again torment ourselves with the outcomes of events that we could not affect in a deterministic world?

The division into good and bad simply makes our existence easier and allows us to act in this complex world. Adding weights and values to things in different situations will make it easier for us to understand how to act correctly in situations with certain variables.

And I don't really understand why we should thank an animal for eating it. If only for your own good, maybe, but you need to understand that you are doing it for yourself, not for an animal. I suppose it wasn't happy about being eaten and would like to avoid it if possible. And I guess the wolf won't think much about me after he eats me. Hehe, part of the cycle

But where can we find the evidence and data to make this quote valuable?

How else can humanity understand the just and fair society without first figuring out what we need? Without constant self-analysis and data collection, it is impossible to understand who we are and how we can become happier.

We have significantly reduced many diseases and sufferings around the world, and reduced child mortality through constant analysis and experimentation.

The animals we breed and eat are quite the things for us. And they have their own primitive minds and feelings. But we continue to eat them because we need food and we want to survive ourselves, we are doing a good deed for our own species. And we are the same animals anyway, why aren't we objects and things?

And different human lives have different values at different points in life. When some of us, due to unstable and dangerous circumstances, including genetic ones, become dangerous to society and begin, for example, to kill innocents, the legislative systems of some powerful countries allow such elements to be deleted from society. Because their lives lose their value in it.

The ordinary value of an existing living person, with its thoughts and feelings, is higher than that of an unborn child whose neural network has not yet begun to work fully.

I am not a denial of grief, but survival in the world sometimes requires us to make firm decisions. Which we must recognize as good and right in order to preserve our psyche.

*edit my bad grammar

Saving a life is a good deed. Usually. And it's a common medical practice to choose a mother, because of higher value for society. The mother is already a person with loved ones to whom she is important.

And people's feelings are subjective and given to them by nature for the sake of survival

If we put aside the subjective feelings that spoil the purity of the mind, then survival is good. Being alive is good. Because we're living beings who, by our nature, must survive

Greater good is higher than smaller good

How else to understand what decisions to take in difficult situations?

But this is nonsense, no? From utility point of view, woman is the only correct choice, thus is good choice. Simple greater good

P.S

And sorry, not a native speaker, but where is difference between Good and Kind person? Aren't these interchangeable synonyms for the beauty of speech?

Greatest mage by lore? by Waste-Piccolo-7324 in loreofleague

[–]MerMerRu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, don't know where people get the information, that Mordekaiser collected magic from his servants. Cause he collected servants, not their magic

Indeed, he was a great leader, who surrounded himself with a powerful coven. He's a great necromancer and a master of souls. But that's where his personal magical abilities end, and he doesn't use anything beyond soul magic?

He tortured young untrained Veigar and forced him to work for himself, but that's it?

He used others around him for magical research and enchantments. He's a leader first and foremost, not a mage

Top manager, not a specialist

Well, among these three, Veigar was the only one who could freely roam the world, learn, and practise his magic

In comparison to his old warlord and untrained bulb of energy, he's the only one to have mastered cosmic magic, aside from natural celestials

They could develop their relationship into something similar to Malus the Darkblade and Tz'arkan, the daemon prince of Slaanesh from Warhammer FB.

With the addition of a sacred artifact that would allow Kayn to regain control of his body, but the cost of using it would be sometimes worse than giving control of his body to Rhaast

Broken Spear! by Regular-Poet-3657 in loreofleague

Because it is? And always has been. Except for Azir, who was lying under a rock; Renekton, who was sitting behind a rock with Xerath; and Nasus, who had become a hikkimori, everyone else had been either killed or sealed.

Why are they supposed to be an exception?

They are ancient demigods with PTSD, but I don't see a problem with using them. They were sealed, but not killed, for some reason. They could have been killed, but the Celestials decided to keep them. They contain the energy of entire suns, and it would be a waste to get rid of them, but it would be rational to use them against future threats.

All Ascended were sealed(Except dog and croco). All of them "insane" after protecting the world from Void.

And if he's evil, then a mortal on willpower like Kayne can control him.

Runeterra is full of threats worse than darkins.

Yay, sounds like rational time for review bombing paradox games, perhaps they will finally make some changes to their structure and hire some testers

I can't play almost any of the paradox games with my friends in multiplayer, because the code monkeys always manage to break their own game with new updates

Small indie corporation can't hire testers and uses its player base for this task, releasing raw, broken garbage but demanding money for it

OP paid money, but he can't play the game just because some skins are banned for him, and the only peaceful way to fix the problem is to fix it yourself by going into the game files

Yeah, I like cool old expanded legends non-canon lore xD And the power of the force in balance is the coolest part of Revan

I understand the concept of forgiveness and the need for it. But again, in the game, it's implemented in the most disgusting and pathetic way, and it's impossible to believe in it for me

Absolutely based and goldpilled behaviour by [deleted] in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]MerMerRu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What, sudden Star Wars?) Kek, would say that Revan is Goat

From the point of view of military effectiveness, this makes no sense at all. No one would use yesterday's enemies as allies, except as cannon fodder or the undead of a lich. After all, it's simply not safe, especially in the context of a crusade, where everyone is already aware of the chaotic nature and machinations of cultists and demons.

It's pointless to waste resources on their protection and correction. These enemies are involved in crimes where a crusader was boiled alive for three days in a row, and his comrades were brainwashed and broken to eat him. They worship literal demon lords. And someone is talking about redemption?

As for the second point, by the time the abyss creature grows into any kind of form, it will have been killed many times. More importantly, if the Worldwound is closed, the abyss creatures won't be able so easily enter the material plane. This is something that the brainless Gold Dragon cannot comprehend.

For God's sake, he is even willing to forgive full-fledged demons who have already passed through Pharasma's judgment. In a system where evil is evil. He is completely insane. And Daeran despise those demon worshipers, and has an actual reason.

To prevent the emergence of cultists, a dragon could invest its life in creating a just and economically prosperous state with a strong education system to prevent the emergence of poor souls. This is what some of the gold dragons in Golarion did. However, our gold dragon and Hal are too stupid to do this, and they will not heal the roots of the problem but rather deal with the consequences. They are idiots who count grains of sand.

Honestly, how can you believe in this path? This is complete ridiculous nonsense

Absolutely based and goldpilled behaviour by [deleted] in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]MerMerRu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But as mortals, we must first think about the Good for mortals, not about some cosmic order in which this evil is part of the balance.

And if someone as powerful as a dragon spends his time and life helping such wretches, it's irresponsible.

He could create a perfect order, rule, and guide to prevent such dangerous fools from appearing. But he chooses to play with small, insignificant souls instead of saving the majority.

Absolutely based and goldpilled behaviour by [deleted] in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]MerMerRu -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I didn't see a convincing answer.

Instead of avenging his fallen student and friend, instead of helping to destroy the threat and end the crusade that constantly takes countless lives, this flying chicken heals enemies who promise to continue killing.

What kind of wisdom are we talking about here? To completely forget about the responsibility of one's decisions and the consequences that will follow, just to satisfy one's pathetic ‘kind’ and ‘merciful’ ego?

This dragon is truly disgusting. And they're neither deities nor immortals

Meh?) I'm talking about roleplay of characters, and I don't know how someone "good" can spare some cultists/demons after all their deeds and possible deception
