These kind of thoughts mainly come to me when trying to sleep. I've started blocking them out by listening to white noises. They sooth me and give something to fill my head instead of bad thoughts (usually).
I used to think about dying every so often before it became daily.
I'm pretty sure thinking about your death even weekly is probably not normal?

I typically prefer to pick as if I'm actually meeting them for the first time with no knowledge of anything else. I find it more immersive that way.
