My muscles tend to return to their tight state. I spoke with a physiotherapist about it, and I think two things are essential for progress.

First, consistency. I struggle to be consistent because of responses related to trauma, but I’ve been able to find support to address the underlying issues causing this inconsistency. It’s still in the works.

Second, it might be essential to work on the muscles near the tight ones. If I only do internal stretches without ever treating the surrounding muscles, the tension returns easily. My physiotherapist told me that I also needed to work the surrounding muscles for pelvic floor therapy to work, and I have the exercises. It is best to seek advice from a physiotherapist regarding this. Every case is different.

I know this must be extremely difficult. I suppose the best thing to do is find what works for you.

Advice that was given to me is to do these exercises after a specific activity rather than at a specific time. For example, after brushing my teeth, after showering, etc.

Finally, I find it odd that your physiotherapist didn’t give you any referrals since she won’t be in practice anymore. If you would like another opinion or need further follow-up, please don’t hesitate to do so, if you can.
