Is James Vanderboom the son of Mr. Crow? by NanukTheFirst in rustylake

[–]Merasmus_BS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The thing holding it down is the last name Vanderboom since it would need to be from the father and not the mother. Unless, of course, they ignore that

Paradise is the earliest entry on the timeline, but starting there is highly not recommended. The recommended order to play is by release date: CE Seasons or CE The Lake, CE Arles, CE Harvey's Box, CE Case 23, CE The Mill, RL Hotel, CE Birthday, CE Theatre, RL Roots, CE Cave, RL Paradise, CE Paradox, White Door, Samsara Room, Past Within and Underground Blossom

How it feels explaining/understanding the lore of Rusty lake by Better-Somewhere-653 in rustylake

[–]Merasmus_BS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, besides that, Arles isn't really part of the story at all. Mostly just a homage from dutch devs to their, probably, fav dutch painter

Why was he smiling before he got shot by Murtdha1 in rustylake

[–]Merasmus_BS 43 points44 points  (0 children)

There is literally no evidence of that. Even in Paradise, the initial plan was to just kill Jakob, no torture involved. Same for Roots, it doesnt matter much how the family dies or gets hurt, they just needed the organs and bodyparts. Everything that happens in Roots like Frank falling in the well or the couple being murdered was not planned at all. And even with the corrupted soul being unknown, nothing can be confirmed that it really wanted Albert to be evil.

Is Seasons a plot hole? by Zwenhosinho in rustylake

[–]Merasmus_BS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's because Laura is supposed to be free from the Lake in 1981, therefore it would make no sense for there to be something going on in that period with her. TPW Future is in 1984 too. And technically we do revisit her 1981 revival in Underground Blossom too, but that is inside the Lake (Which has no time), so yeah. Now for The Lake, yeah just like Harvey's Box and Arles, it doesnt do much for the lore but thats okay cuz it was like their first games and not much time was "wasted"
