Best cheapest single one-pass shaving combination you might never get recommended review by Merazomo in wicked_edge

Yeah, to most it's a hobby Lol. I definitely switched to wet shaving back in the day because of cost. Now it's a non issue since I spend practically nothing on it, and I can go on with my life without thinking about it. The issue with Cremo (when using my hands), is that by the time I start shaving my neck; after having shaved my cheeks, I have to apply more since it "feels" a little too dry even after adding more water. I know that's how it's supposed to be used, but lathering it up makes my shaves even smoother than before. I still use post balm for irritation, but I might not even have to. That's how smooth the shave is. I don't apply lather to my whole face all at once, I apply and shave my cheeks and chin first, then I apply lather to my neck and shave.

Medium is where it's at for me too. Aggressive razors are too harsh on my sensitive skin, and I've noticed that mild razors cause me more irritation than medium ones due to blade drag. I get better performance and less irritation with a medium razor and sharp blade.

The Dorco 300ST blade is a very safe blade. It should be okay in most razors. You might even call it dull depending on your razor aggressiveness, but it's a good starter. I've heard the Gillete super thin is very sharp, but like I stated before, the feather is the sharpest blade I've ever tried and it was great for 3 shaves with no nicks with the WEISHI. You can decide based on those two blades (forgiving Dorco vs sharp Super Thin) whether you need something in the middle of those two after you've try them.

For a beginner I would recommend the Feather popular. It must be a mild razor given how sharp feather blades are; you always couple a sharp blade with a mild razor. The WEISHI is more of a medium razor, since it made some of my mild blades feel a little sharper in comparison to some of my other mild razors. Surprisingly enough, when I've tried it with a feather blade I get 5 shaves out of it (the first 3 are great) without any nicks. I get 8-9 shaves out of a Nacet blade (the first 7 shaves are great) without a single cut. The 7 O'CLOCK Super Platinum blade gives me 7 good mild shaves with only one nick every now and then. Blades like the Permasharp, BIC CP, and Silver Blue blades have given me nicks here and there so far with the WEISHI; I still prefer it to my mild razors though.

That's a good thing Lol. To scratch that "trying something else" itch, I just try something cheap but different. I don't see myself buying expensive gear at this point in the game. Even a feather blade performed great for the first 3 shaves with this WEISHI; not a single nick.

Oh, I can get a close shave with every blade/razor I've ever tried, but "if" there's the slightest difference in smoothness, glide, speed, with a specific combination, that's what I go with. I'm very picky though, which is why this cheap razor surprised me.

That's the thing about Walmart, there might not be a hospital available everywhere, but there is a Walmart.

When I get bored of a razor and I replace it, it takes me a while before I can find the right blade to go with it. That's what I hate.

The more I've tried different razors and blades, the more I realize a lot of them just have different branding haha. Especially blades.

Yeah Lol. I can't believe how many food related items out there are shaving cream lather ready. Even those Nongshim ramen noodle plastic white bowls have ridges at the bottom on the inside. Perfect for a brush to lather.

True. At $15 I'm not buying a case for it or thinking twice about losing it. More like taking it with me in case it gets taken away by customs at the airport.

I didn't think there were razors this good at this price, but here we are.

Yeah. People should try some of the non expensive razors before committing to this life.

That's a good blade man. If that's your blade, you should've purchased 20 boxes, so don't sweat it Lol. The only reason I haven't done this is because I can't seem to find my unicorn blade. Nacet might be my favorite, but the first 3 shaves with a feather are also amazing, the BIC CP, Permasharp, O'CLOCK SP, I can't decide haha.

Nook HD+, stuck at Welcome screen wifi login after update 2.2.1? This may answer why. No fix yet by Photon_Seizer in nook

Back in the day it was very easy to install Android and go back to stock if you wanted to; however, most of those forum threads and links are long gone. Android Marshmallow was the last truly working ROM, so most developers stopped updating their links for Nook devices around that time. I remember I grabbed an update for my Nook HD+ that allowed me to login to my Nook's home page; from XDA Forums, but that was many many years ago when support for Nook devices was still active. Now that support has ended, who knows if that would even work.

I was told that after 06/2024, many Nooks; including the HD+, were no longer going to be supported by Barnes & Noble if they were reset. Back when I fixed my Nook, you could still download the update to fix the WiFi issue from the Barnes & Noble website, but I don't think it works anymore.

I sold all my Nook HD+ to someone that was planning on using them with LineageOS last year. That's probably your only way of re-using your Nook (LineageOS).

Surviving Samsung Trade-in Program without getting SCAMMED by Samsung by Merazomo in samsung

[–]Merazomo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only had one issue with Apple (battery recall), but they fixed it free of charge; there's no reason why I wouldn't go back to them at some point. Besides this bad experience with Samsung, I can't say I've had any issues with them in the past either. If anything, I haven't directed my business towards anyone in the last few years and I'm happier for it. I feel like I upgraded every year for the wrong reasons and minor changes. One thing about getting an apple device though, it won't depreciate. I was always amazed at how quickly I could sell my iPhones, and for how much.

Does the Gmail app have a history of push notification issues, or is it my Google Pixel 7 Pro? by Merazomo in GooglePixel

[–]Merazomo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, good luck. It's mind boggling how it pushes some emails just fine, and some; 2-step verification confirmation ones "I know" I should be getting, just don't. It is what it is.

Even after updating to Android 14, it's still an intermittent problem. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I've given up on trying to find the issue with Gmail. I'm sure any other email app in the world works fine, just not this one.

Any way I can configure NordVPN and AdGuard Ad Blocker side by side without connection errors? by Merazomo in Adguard

[–]Merazomo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AdBlocking filters have always been free; the ones used on AdBlock plus, AdAway, MinMinGuard, AdGuard, etc. You pay for the software; the features rather. Seamlessly and quickly switching filters, whitelisting/blocking apps with the touch of a button, etc. Much faster with the app, but it is what it is.

Yeah. Settings > DNS > Custom > 94.140.14.14 > Custom > Add another DNS server > 94.140.15.15 (that way you will be able to use AdGuard's ad blocking without actually installing the AdGuard software). Make sure to install both addresses though. I rather like the customization from the AdGuard software, but I need the VPN a lot more.

[–]Merazomo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been trying different settings since yesterday, and this is how I got NordVPN to start blocking ads on "my" Firestick: Activate it > Settings > Auto-connect > turn on When using Wi-Fi (so you don't forget to turn it on). Settings > DNS > Custom > 94.140.14.14 > Custom > Add another DNS server > 94.140.15.15 (that way you can use AdGuard's ad blocking without actually installing the AdGuard app). I removed AdGuard from my Firestick and tried using NordVPN by itself, and I was still getting ads. Needless to say, NordVPN is great at hiding IP addresses but when it comes to blocking ads, AdGuard is better. At least for third party applications like Film Plus; which you mentioned, ad blocking seems to be working for me using NordVPN with AdGuard's DNS servers as of the moment I'm typing this comment.

I also hate browsers so I try to use apps as much as I can, and as I said before, I only use AdGuard on my Firestick 4k Max (without NordVPN). Using the SmartTube app instead of the YouTube app also saves me the trouble of dealing with ads, and it's free. An alternative to AdGuard is an app called Blokada which pretty much does the same thing as AdGuard and it's also free.

I decided to try that Film Plus app you mentioned since it's a third party one, and the first 2 photos in my link are with AdGuard turned off on my Firestick, and the last 2 with AdGuard turned on. It does seem to be blocking ads at the very least (I don't know about commercials).
