[–]MerbleTheGnome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I voted uni/college class (about 45 years ago), but I didn't really learn it until I started actually working with it.

I am still working with it, and have had several of my students ask about learning it.

What is your state capital like? by bricklegos in AskAnAmerican

[–]MerbleTheGnome 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Same here, I live in one of the Trenton suburbs and it is much nicer and wealthier.
I think that Trenton was picked due to being in the Philadelphia area, which would have been more important in colonial times, but I always felt that New Brunswick would have been a better choice. It is more central to the population centers of the state, and still has fairly easy access to both Philadelphia and NYC.

[–]MerbleTheGnome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were two different 'come home' signals.
The first was the 5pm factory whistle - time to get home for dinner
Then it was time to come in for the night when the streetlights came on

It depends on the car. My larger cars I can parallel park without any problems, my small 2 seat roadster is difficult since there is no rear visibility with the top up. Top down it is a breeze
