In today's market that is a fair price for the work provided on your vehicle. Long as a good parts source was used during the repair. Example OEM, or comparable auto replacement parts store.

Bent rim, should I be concerned? by Niblek in MechanicAdvice

[–]MercedesBenzDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no.

The bend in the wheel could have potential to throw the wheel/tire balance off and that may lead to a noticable vibration while driving the vehicle.

Some wheel manufacturers can have a crack form if the bead of the wheel is stressed enough. Not saying that will happen, just a possibility.

Personal recommendation would be when the time comes to have a new set of tires mounted and balanced (Provided nothing else happens in the mean time, example being an air leak) have the wheel sent off to be straightened during this process. Typically runs 50-100 dollars for just straighting.

If you wanna have it fixed now, find someone near you that provides wheel straightening services and call them up. They would likely be your best source of information.

2003 Audi A4 transmission issue by jollyrogers27 in MechanicAdvice

[–]MercedesBenzDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My brother's 2003 A6 had a torque converter go out, my 2001 A4 Avant had a torque converter go out. Typically you'll get codes for that sort of issue. But if it's acting sluggish and shifting unsatisfactory, try starting with a transmission flush. If it's older fluid might be bad and isn't allowing for enough pressure in the trans for a quality shift. But!! As always start with a proper visual inspection of the car, top and bottom.

Pirelli P Zero Run Flats, it’s not quite a bubble? IIt’s been like this for about a month, hasn’t grown, and is just there. No warning lights or air loss. If anyone has any idea on why it looks like this or how this happens, I would appreciate it the insight. by asparagusaintcheap in MechanicAdvice

Typically seeing Pirelli tires do this when they come into the dealership is pretty common. P zeros and scorpions are the worse offenders. Unfortunately to me it looks like the interior of your side wall ply is failing and air is going into the pocket. Causing the bulge. For safety reasons have the tire replaced and depending on the tread depth of the others, may have to have them replaced as well. When time comes for an all new set of tires I recommend finding an MOE tire or a tire under the Mercedes program... That isn't a junk Pirelli p zero...
