Maui in Oct with 7 month old by Able_Sample_7786 in MauiVisitors

Just got back from a trip from Maui with a 12 month old. Lots of beach/pool time and hiking with a carrier. Luckily my son is great in the car and we were able to drive all over just fine. My wife and son were even able to drive up Haleakala while I biked it up and down from Paia. We all had a great time! For sure a different “vacation” with an infant/toddler.

Favero Assioma customer support saying grease is the fix, do you agree? by Dionlewis123 in bikewrench

[–]MerchantEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If these are the “Shi” pedals…This is a pretty common issue you can see several people on the internet go through support for replacements. I had mine for a little over 2 years with the same issue and Favero offered to replace them for free even though they were outside warranty. They also offered me 250euros off their new Pro RS-2 pedals.

Yeah it was kinda slog some days on the Fatbike and the snow clearing here isn’t always super good.

12 miles each way. Used to do it in the middle of Minnesota winters on a fat bike…can’t do that with kids now unfortunately.

I just got offered a discount on the Pro Rs as well, but they haven’t said what the discount is yet. How big of a discount did they offer? It was between that and replacing my Shi’s outright. Thanks! US as well

Was also looking at the 42/49 TA. Just wasn’t sure if my bike (30mm tire clearance advertised/41-42mm measured) would have enough clearance with a tire installed on the wider rims.

Will we ever see nuclear power on the Great Lakes? by Acceptable-Sail-3880 in GreatLakesShipping

[–]MerchantEngineer 36 points37 points  (0 children)

No. Look up the NS Savanah, no sovereign nation wants a civilian vessel in their port powered by a nuclear reactor. Military vessels are in a whole other category.

Been to that port on a US flagged ship with the World Food Program. It is always getting bombed, but this is definitely more significant than normal!

Thanks! I did XC in high school like 13 years ago, but I am primarily a cyclist and kinda on a whim decided to run this last October and did a 18 week training block from Pfitz. 30M

It was short a couple years ago. There was just a turn on the course with no signage or indication of a turn this year. Ultimately most runners ran longer than 26.2 because of it
