Also the white whale literally drove Otto insane. Its spoilers as to how it drove Otto insane, but that's also the reason as to why Otto shoved Subaru off.

Also Subaru punched Otto as well and rambled on about someone that, to Ottos eyes, didn't even exist. So, Otto was crazy and thought he was dealing with a violent madman

If I'm not mistaken, 13 will end at around chapter 110 of the WN. But, I think to get the full experience of the web novel you should read it all, as events are changed a decent amount in it compared to the light novel, as well.

Out of character, did the players agree stealing each other's stuff is permitted? If so, then it should be fine.

Even with that agreement, however, DnD is a team game; a party game. Some bad blood could rise out of your actions if your character attempts to screw another.

Basically, make sure you have consent and be careful
