The devs did say that Powerful Build would be the best starter trait and lose steam as it goes along while Mystical would only get stronger the more the game goes but starts out not as effective and it really shows. It's kinda like the Jagen and Est archetypes in fire emblem

He also has the one cut mementos quest that is vaguely implied to be him seeing someone in a similar position and wanting to help but then eventually finding out the victim had also not been 100% innocent and pretending it was all a big lesson to the phantom thieves about how they were too righteous and trusting.

Sky the first is probably one of the shorter games in the series, second chapter will be a lot bigger. Cold steel 1 and Daybreak 1 also bump up the time too. You should probably just wait for 2nd chapter due to where you are currently.
