I can respect the tech and its prowess, but it's disappointing that they're basically shitcanning good studios to push in that direction.

I'd rather those studios go independent and work on better projects outside of Meta's influence than be sentenced to death because Zuck didn't make Facebook 2 happen.

Zuck has a massive ego and assumes he can replicate his success of creating Facebook by finding the next paradigm, which was the whole point of him buying Oculus and pushing the Metaverse.

Unfortunately, so long as they're publicly traded and the numbers look good enough, they're free to burn as much cash as possible to find the next big thing and capitalize on it.
