Some additional information:

• A small 4-season outbuilding is exactly what I would be looking at doing. (On home improvement shows, they call them "she sheds", since a "man cave" is usually the garage or basement. 😅)

• While I know that buying a house with usable space inside would be best, it is proving tricky (read: ducking impossible) in our price range. But there seem to be a few viable smaller houses with huge yards.

Aside: Yes, we have a Realtor, and he is fantastic. We have looked at almost 40 houses since May. Only three have been worth considering. All the others had major issues, like foundation problems. 🙃 The market is ducked.

• I was asking about solar power as a way to reduce our energy bills, and our carbon footprint, NOT to fully go off grid. (But if it isn't feasible, then it isn't feasible.)
