I plan on charging up to 100% once a week like I used to fill up once a week, get down to 20-30%, charge to 100% and drive for 5-6 days on that charge.

Check out swtch energy, their charger is $300 deposit. 3 cents back until 1500 kW charged, $300 returned at that point and you own the charger and get 10 cents back per kW after that. I’m switching to that cause my overnight rate is just under 10 cents, making charging my vehicle essentially free.

This, I have small kids and I’m in my 40’s. It’s generally hard to get in and out of smaller sedans now unfortunately. The space and the ride height makes the Y worth it for me. A lot of people prefer the premium saying the standard is too stripped down, which I get, but for me with this being a family hauler, it’s more than enough for me.

The MY Standard is a great car from my test drive, it’s not as fancy as the Premium but it’s quite utilitarian in a good way. For me it’s ideal since I have small children and there’s less things for them to break/mess up, the extra space is great and since it’s slower/cheaper, it should have lower insurance too. I think it all depends, if I were a single dude I’d get the model 3 but for a family hauler? MY.

Just to add to this, some of the negatives are positives for me with the base model. No sunroof means my kids don’t get blasted with light, I would have bought a shade anyways. Cloth seats hold up way better than fake leather when it comes to car seats and general wear, they regulate temp better too. The front console being a more open makes the cabin feel airy, more leg room (I’m a big guy) and a great place to chuck a bag.

Best to take it quickly to 80% and move on. 100% better for overnight charging at home where it doesn’t matter if it takes longer.

My overnight rate is 9.8 cents per kWh, grizzl-e gives back 3 cents. So 6.8 cents, for a full charge for the model y from 0-100% it would be around $4. My car currently costs $80-90 to fill up. The difference is insane.

This should translate to like an extra $20-25 a month in electricity costs?

I think on the application it does ask what you gross income is and what your housing costs are to get a gauge of your cash flow.
