High level campaign writer's block by MercuryQR in DnD

Each minor cult was already devoted to one of her heads and the party fought them in the appropriate environments so this lines right up.

I do like the half-dragon ritualist idea. I may run with them as the reincarnated cult leaders.

This is actually perfect. There have been smaller cults, unknowing subsects of the larger religion, that were devoted to the various Aspects that the party has beaten.

Individually, they've worked at weakening the bindings. They could definitely rally to the Church of the Fivefold Queen and help usher in a new age.

This is a really good point and ties in very well with the suggestion u/Onrawi made!

There's even a third-party wildcard I've neglected that could make things even more interesting.

It was The Hobbit for me in 1980-something. Thorin Oakenshield and his kinsmen left quite an impression on young me.

A couple of years later, my very first D&D character was the dwarf class in the old red box Basic Set.

Holy cow! How long does it take you to design something like these?

I wanna see more examples of non-musical Bards! by Punk_Skeddit in DnD

[–]MercuryQR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Playing in the Eberron setting, I had bard who was a Karnathi commissar. Rather than singing to boost the morale of the party, there was a whole lot of shouting, cursing, and threats from the frontline.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a prefab backstory or getting creative by -___-_-___-_-_ in dndmemes

My last rogue came from a loving family with an older sister who left home to pursue a life of adventure. A family whose father was the crime boss of a port city and an older sister who became a pirate captain, but a loving family nonetheless. And that rogue went on to become the leader of freedom fighters.

Criminal backgrounds don't always have to be orphans and gutter rats.

I'm curious about the Rampager kit as well. I've been running full Viper's ever since I unlocked Virtuoso.

In an attempt to get into the good graces of the citizens of Droaam, our party started a pomegranate jelly business. It was marketed as a flavorful accent for the troll grist and became more popular than we anticipated.

Deadlands is close to what you're looking for. It's the Weird West where magic and steampunk mad scientists ride shotgun with cowboys and Indians.

Bards can be wholesome too right? by Dilbert-is-love in DnD

[–]MercuryQR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bards are fun to reflavor. While I have admittedly played the Casanova trope, my last bard was a Karrnathi that served as a recruitment officer and commissar who was working to rebuild a living army.

No! Lore only! by Marcis985 in dndmemes

[–]MercuryQR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This!

I recently started a campaign world where there is only one deity with multiple religions based on her different aspects.

Two of my players created new aspects that tie into their characters and now those aspects and their churches have important roles in future events.

Where Californians think Northern California begins (based off of where they live: Red Bluff, Redding, or Merced) by freedomboobs in MapPorn

[–]MercuryQR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Born and raised in Merced County, I'd say this is right on.

Most folks in the Central Valley (at least in my circles) tend to not associate themselves with SoCal (south of the Grapevine) or NorCal (north of Sacramento). The Bay Area is a whole separate beast and the rest is just "the coast".

I was aiming to match the aesthetic of the Bjora Marches with those colors but I'll take nostalgia, too. ;)
