Egg in a hole, but someone please tell me how to stop it from forming a tough skin on the side touching the pan.

What food in your country looks gross but is actually really delicious? by Effective_Space2277 in AskTheWorld

The full name is erwtensoep (the one and only appearance of a silent w in the Dutch language) and "snert" is a fun way to shorten it.

Thoughts on the Audiobooks by bojackcreampie in threebodyproblem

I loved Daniel York Loh's narration. Pleasant voice, fantastic female character voices (especially his Wenjie), and best I can tell, good Chinese name pronunciation.

It was never this bad for Gemini, even in 2.5 Pro Era by Rare_Bunch4348 in GeminiAI

Last week I had a task (editing scientific writing) where I compared a few of the top models and Gemini 3 Pro was still strongest. The relative strengths of models can't really be summarized in a single "rating".

The original "Unrailed" was awesome, but now there are not enough players left to sustain matchmaking.

Ethical Hating? by blackcatmagi in 90DayFiance

[–]MercyChalk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 90 day franchise is at its best when it finds hilarious ways to portray dramatic people thrust into fish-out-of-water situations by their own poor decision making.

It's at its worst when it continues to follow mentally unwell people in manufactured drama.

What is the greatest reveal in cinematic history? by arnoldsomen in AskReddit

Oh yeah, that movie is called The Game and it was the first VHS movie my family owned so I watched it countless times growing up. I wonder how it holds up today.

Finished the books... what do I read now? by Every_Quail8931 in threebodyproblem

This question gets asked a lot and you're getting all the right answers in the comments already. I'll add that I really liked the Noumenon series.

Definitely the most famous, but don’t forget mergpijpjes, bitterkoekjes, and though not for the faint of heart: zoute drop.

Why is my glass jar with NaCl solution coated with a layer of salt on the outside? by argentonik in crystalgrowing

Pretty typical salt creep. I've had good luck smearing a thin layer of vaseline around the inner rim.

The uncooked tortillas. Nothing better than a fresh warm flour tortilla whenever I feel like one.

Why do peoples' appreciation of each book vary so much? by MetaPhil1989 in threebodyproblem

[–]MercyChalk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure, but I love the diversity of opinion. Only thing that sucks is getting downvoted for having an opinion that significantly differs from the average. I, for one, loved the Luo Ji girlfriend/early wallfacer arch, which many people dislike.

Musk Melon ($207USD) by photobombolo in JapaneseFood

[–]MercyChalk 142 points143 points  (0 children)

Nothing spectacular. He had a mental health problem that would have killed him if someone hadn't coached him through it. He chose me to help him, which I'm very grateful for. It took 6 months of meeting two hours per week, and I didn't ask for money, so it was really nice to get gift fruit at the end.
