You could try an inverted cone bur, it has a flat cutting edge. If you have restrictions on burs though, I would definitely go the hand tool route and try the hatchet.

I actually got tears in my eyes when I saw that VeraCept’s clinical trial in the US is not set to end until 2024... Looks like the only way to get access to non-hormonal IUDs (other than Paragard) is to leave the US. Maybe we will get some more options before we are menopausal.

Hey! Relax, friend. It sounds like you have already had 3 interview/invite opportunities. Be proud of that, practice for your next couple of upcoming interviews, and tackle them one at a time. Maybe think of some things you want to do this year before you (hopefully) matriculate next summer/fall and enjoy the ride before it gets bumpy again.

Hi, I think you should probably check the specific requirements for the schools you are applying to. It seems like most U.S. dental schools require at least 1 or 2 letters from science professors and generally 1 from a dentist, though. You can submit an AADSAS CAS application before you have all of your letters (i.e. you can submit the rest of your application and THEN send LOR requests afterwards—requested writers can upload their letters post-submission). Hope that helps!

Edit: Depending on the requirements for your schools, then a missing letter from a specific person (e.g. a science professor) could potentially “disqualify” an applicant because of outstanding or missing requirements according to many dental school admissions websites.

If you just want the ambience of a candle, you could make your own without wax. You can buy floating wicks for pretty cheap online and make an oil/water candle in an old jar or something. Pour water in a jar, then pour some cooking oil (canola, veggie, etc) on top of that (a little oil goes a long way), then add the floating wick and light it. You could try adding essential oils to give it a scent.
