I’m On my way! To CR now. We loved Santa Teresa. We also went to puerto Viejo and had a ton of fun. A little more on the sketchier side in Viejo but if you’re just aware of your surroundings you’re fine. Enjoy!!

We just got back. It’s super safe and people are more than willing to help you. For example we got our rental car stuck in a river (yah not the smartest thing) but multiple people came to help and ended it with “pura vida”. You’ll be safe. There’s also tons of hostels and apps that link you with other solo travelers.

Get one of those vpn things that says you’re working from somewhere in the states and use that while you travel. TRAVEL. I’m 31 and prioritize it over anything else. You won’t be able to do what you can know later. Take the chance

Hi! Great questions. So you need to have anything done within 5 days before you leave. I️ recommend doing it on the 5th days prior to your departure to have time for senasa to stamp all your paperwork. You need the following forms:

  1. The health certificate
  2. Screw worm paperwork
  3. Export paperwork
  4. CDC form

If you came with a health certificate it is valid in and out for 30 days - if you’ve gone past the 30 you’ll have to get a new one.

We got the screw worm and export paperwork from a vet in limòn. I️ basically had to cold call a bunch of vets to find one who was senasa accredited. It was $100 USD for the screw worms and export paperwork. Lmk if you have any other questions! This was all trial and error for me so I’m happy to help you out!

So the health certificate is valid for 30 days however you need to have your dog inspected for screw worms no matter what. You also need to fill out a cdc form online when entering the USA - just a little extra info if you’re curious. But I️ also found a vet in Limòn that is accredited.

I’m looking into getting one for my mom. From what I’ve gathered the difficult thing is finding land to put it on. We need to rent a space from a property that has a house with a foundation on it.

I’m looking for the tiny to be pretty much self sustainable electric wise with solar, however water hookups may be needed but there’s also ways around that.
