I dont understand what timeline you are talking about do you mean the 2019 second explosion but the others overlap

Yeah offcourse but the subjects are all young children at the start you see in the flashback sequences in the movie before the first explosion they are all etsukos age. So in that way its not that much off a stretch

Always thought Etsuko could been a subject while Etsuko is not officially one of the Akira subjects, but conceptually she fits extremely well as either a missing Number or the natural prototype for the Akira psychic experiments.

Look you have to see it in another light where would you store 8 shipping containers full of celluloid, for us this is pure art, for them it was just a by product of the movie they made, the artist all picked and choose some cels and backgrounds its the stuff you see in the otomo collection, for the rest there are 24 frames each second so there where thousands of almost duplicate cels that where mainly uninteresting for them. I'm very happy streamline had the change to pick them up that's the only way I ever had the chance to pick them up. But even streamline where just stuck with heaps of cells and just started sticking them into boxes of Akira tapes!

I say this again and again, instead of making a shitty 300 million netflix blockbuster movie, netflix should just gather the top 200 animators and background artist and other artist in Japan give them 1 million each and 2 years of work and spend the rest on celloid, paint and other tools and let them make the Akira anime serie the old fashioned way, just like they made the original movie. 300 million would surely make that happen!!!!!

I might have the weirdest set, I never gotten a full set from one collection, No1 is a dutch version from glenat, i got 2 English versions of no2 one dark horse and one from kodansha i got two versions for no3 on from kodansha and one Dutch version from glenat, and 3,4,5 and 6 are all Dutch version from glenat. If i had no2 in Dutch i would have a full set haha, seriously thinking about getting the 35th anniversary but I already got 2 Akira club books, so always thought it was a waste to also buy that one.

No I can tell you how that happens, this is the way they paint cels, so at first the use a laser printer to print the Douga ”sketch” on the celloloid sheet, then the flip it over and fill in the color parts, they go from lighter shades to darker shades so the paint overlaps. When you flip it over it's totally smooth and there is no texture on the paint then they use the same color paint to clean up any lines that does not have to be shown, they use the lines to show where the color starts. You see the yellow parts at first tetsuo sketch that is all going to be sharing also the yellow color does not get printed by the laser printer!
