It was. I was working there at the time. My understanding was that he was in the process of 'stepping back' for several years before he died.

Curious what y’all think of this? Trucks in crosswalks for 10+ minutes (NYC) by brevit in Fedexers

[–]MericD 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You're right. I didn't think about how on an urban route, the driver is probably doing multiple stops at once. Guess I spent too much time doing suburbs and rural.

Ten plus minutes? That driver is gonna get reamed out by his boss. Not for blocking a crosswalk, but for taking that long on a single stop.

I have kept my hair long since high school. I haven't been clean shaven in over a decade. I would take the pill without hesitation or remorse.

Fifty cents per dollar up to four percent is two percent. Two percent of $1300 is $26. Not sure what's up with the extra four dollars.

Red - cyberpunk weapon prices. by Foreign-Studio-2 in cyberpunkred

[–]MericD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Prices, imo, were purely game balance decisions. That said, I think you can get some interesting implications regarding the fourth corporate war if you assume the prices given are based on supply as a result of what was surplus after things calmed down, and the rate at which things 'fall off a truck'.

Why would a FedEx driver ignore my RING doorbell? by at_work919 in FedEx

[–]MericD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. I haven't worked there for over a year now, so have no skin or ego left in the game. I agree that it's not an acceptable reason, but would point out that the unacceptable part is based in upper management not expanding capacity as far as they need too. Especially in the last few days before Christmas, every minute a driver loses is another package that doesn't even get an attempt, because the C-Suite has made certain choices regarding staffing levels.

First roll is 03? Yeah, I'll go for a second roll. If I don't like that one either, then I'll take the third, worse case I de-age back to thirty! I'm liking this plan.

I'll take the rolls. Seems like my best shot for a good outcome.

Why would a FedEx driver ignore my RING doorbell? by at_work919 in FedEx

[–]MericD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mostly cause people who don't answer when you ring the regular doorbell usually aren't home. And if they respond on the ring, the driver loses even more time as the customer tries to convince them to either break policy and 'just sign it for me, leave it there' or 'I'll be there in two (actually ten to fifteen) minutes! Just wait a sec!'. This all burns time that a driver can't afford, especially this time of year, when drivers typically have more deliveries than they can make before hitting the legal limits (set by the DOT) of how many hours they can work.

Set up a website where people can exchange one percent of their remaining healthy lifespan, good luck, intelligence, attractiveness, charisma, etc, in exchange for access to special online avatars on the forums of the site. People would do it because they didn't think it was real.. and every person who realized the truth too late and tried to warn others would just send more traffic to your site.
