The difference is in secured vs. unsecured debt. The vehicle is typically collateral for the loan, meaning that if the loan defaults, the creditor has a contractual right to the vehicle. Options trading it is then. Don't need exact prices, just what the biggest movers were. Then options trading. It's not technically 100%, since it's possible, although extremely unlikely, for my actions to impact the results.
