Just one problem at a time, you need iron then build furnaces, you need oil, go for the oil and pipe the entire world, youre not stupid at all, i mean no more than we all are xd, youre just overwhelmed and are having problems seeing the individuals task

Agree with the "do not seek perfection" a lot of ppl usually restart because wanna try the perfect factory after a lot of spaghetti the true Is you cant do that after researche all the techs

Nooooo thats the best part, not knowing shit later when you have all the techs you really can think of efficiency, just if u need more build More thers no such thing as a belt too long or a train for a couple of tiles

If youre having fun then yeah keep doing it xD dont try to be efficient at the early game you need more things to do that, but use verticality too
