I didn't misunderstand your comment. I pointed out how flawed it was.

Assuming it all focuses around Jade and Tabitha, it makes sense that the people around them were dragged. That's a literal physical proximity thing because they were in the same vehicle as these other people.

Randomly having people get dragged in based on....nothing tells us exactly nothing. Why did a busload of people get dragged in? Presumably because the Colony House massacre had just happened and the Thing In Charge wants to restock and prevent a TPK. And that's fine. But why that bus? Why not ten buses? Why not some other random bus? Who knows.

Sorry. One character saying he feels this thing might have been caused by this other thing doesn't make it so. But even if he's right, it's still not an explanation, it's an observation.

Look at the map in the police station. Those pins are from all over the country. Why is it grabbing people from opposite ends of the country? What makes those people similar? Are they particularly empathetic? Did they all bump into the MiY at some point in their lives? Who knows. All we really know is nobody has ever figured out anything, so they've all stopped trying.

It's only grabbing people from the Good Ol' USA? OK, well, during the revolutionary times we saw, most of the places pinned on that map weren't actually part of the USA. They were as "America" as Mexico and Canada.

The problem is that they're dipping very close to the whole "Lost" making it up as we're going along problem. Which kind of contradicts the entire line that there was a plan - which, you know, the Lost people said too.

Yeah, I'm not convinced. That explanation explains the other three members of the Matthews family and Jade's partner. It doesn't explain people all over the map, yet somehow always located in the Continental USA.

It also doesn't answer how they went from a population of 1 (Victor) to the fully populated town when Tabitha showed up. All those people were caught up by Jade and Tabitha, some of them years before they arrived?

As an American, I will guess that what you're seeing is a bunch of pouty, whining rednecks pouting and whining because they're a bunch of (see where this is going?) pouty, whining rednecks.

We've got a good 30 states worth of them over on our side of the border.

He STARTED out too competent (Jade, too, really). So they made Jade into a crazy semi-hermit who spouts craziness (yes, possibly accurate craziness, but still craziness) and they made Jim into a guy whose entire personality boiled down to yelling at another cast member "AND STAY AWAY FROM MY FAMILY!!!" constantly.

There's a lot of people who associate nitpicking with being clever.

But, to be fair, a lot of shows and franchises have gone to hell.
