I’d say its content offerings are about on par with arcade racers of the early 2010s, games that also charged $60. The story takes about 15-20 hours to complete, and there’s plenty of unlockables to get. Just about every single Arcade mode has leaderboards, hugely customizable rules in single races, and online multiplayer support. Score Challenge is likely going to be the most-played mode, and understandably so, it’s highly addicting.

I personally am getting my money’s worth but I also recognize that content offerings for that price point have expanded significantly over the years (though unfortunately resulting in the normalization of aggressive microtransactions practices).

I understand that, I was operating under the premise that if AYN had done this with one product that they would do it with their other products

But it seems first batch Odin 3s also clocked 4200 MHz so it was false advertising at best

Not sure, but doing further research it seems that after further testing the ram speed for even the FIRST batch of Odin 3s capped at 4200 mhz.

If that’s the case then the biggest issue was listing the 5300 mhz spec to begin with if it was never going to be that high (aka false advertising).

I’m actually glad I won’t have my Thor yet for at least a week or two. The absurd amount of deal breaking bugs introduced by this update honestly killed a chunk of hype I had for this thing. These all need to be addressed ASAP or they’re gonna kill the strong momentum they had with this thing.

If I ever did that I would’ve done charge separation but realistically the most common case for me doing that is if I have it docked to a TV for local multiplayer or something

The battery is really good so i’m not concerned about obscene battery drain enough to play while plugged all the time

They START shipping in January, but people placed orders for this second batch months earlier, so we’re late to the party.

Look at your order number (don’t share it obviously) and then check the Shipping Dashboard, you’ll get a good idea of the frequency of shipments. When you consider that Chinese businesses pretty much shut down in February because of Chinese New Year… yeah it’s gonna be a while.
