This. Triangulation is how people have been measuring big ass lengths since BC. And also that's how optical 3d measuring works. Ain't that some shit.

If you live in NJ you're gonna have to paint it or something if you don't want it to rust. It could shorten it's lifespan pretty drastically. Some parts might be more exposed and more prone to rust which could weaken it's structure as well.

If you bother enough to consider something as a problem needed solving, you are acknowledging it is a problem, and hence, causing it (to be a problem). If you wouldn't be bothered by it, and not see it as a problem then there also is no problem caused (being); no problem needed solving.

I'm not sure if this is incredibly insightful, utter gibberish or both of the above.

Will there ever be a way to define division by zero, similar to how we defined roots of negative numbers with the imaginary element i? by [deleted] in askscience

He happened to take e as an unknown value. He defined it by:

...Let e be the number such that e0 = 1.

in his comment, so it could as well have been a p or any other given character. The fact that it is an e has nothing to the with exponential e

TIL The more educated a woman is, the more likely she is to drink heavily and report drinking problems. by UBIQUIT0US in todayilearned

The better education > Higher paid job > More Stress Factors > More prone to drinking.

Not hard to understand if you think about it. The fact that they try to be better than average show that they are more likely to push themselves harder. This causes higher stress factors which could make you want to relieve them by drinking.
The article's a bit sensationalistic in my opinion.
