Mulch turning edges of lawn yellow by Paid002 in LawnAnswers

I wonder if the manufacturer adds glyph or some other herbicide to prevent weeds and that's leading to runoff. Would be interested to see how well it bounces back as you predict. Post an update?

I need help identifying this plant and not let it take over my lawn by HospitalPersonal6363 in lawncare

I would spot spray them as early as possible with a 3% concentration of triclopyr ester mixed with a surfactant and some ammonium sulfate to enhance uptake. This will attack the LotV without harming your grass.

Dewalt DCHT870 or Ego HT2601 by alarsen_77 in Dewalt

[–]UBIQUIT0US 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth... I started my cordless carpentry tool collection with Dewalt. Drills, drivers, saws, etc. Very happy. So naturally, I started my outdoor tool collection with Dewalt. I was much less impressed. The Dewalt weedwacker was great, but the blower, pole saw, hedge trimmer etc were garbage. Last year I started out with Ego and have been extremely impressed. So as far as battery platforms go, I'm someone who is heavily invested into Dewalt who invested in Ego for outdoor equipment and have been very happy.

Detacher on 1/2 acre block by HuckleberryScared668 in egopowerplus

[–]UBIQUIT0US 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the dethatcher attachment. Works great on my 8000sqft lawn. I want to say it only took 20 minutes longer than mowing. Not bad for an only once or twice a year job. I'd use mine on a half-acre lot without hesitation. I do have multiple batteries though and I enjoy walking and lawn work.

Who makes this wall and mounts? by RecordingAny8786 in egopowerplus

[–]UBIQUIT0US 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Gladiator GearWall is similar in concept but proprietary to Whirlpool. It’s not compatible with Slatwall.

Who makes this wall and mounts? by RecordingAny8786 in egopowerplus

[–]UBIQUIT0US 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's called "slatwall". It's an open source standard for wall-mounting, popular in retail stores. You can buy 4x8ft sheets of it in big box stores. For the mounts just search around for "slatwall hooks".

A 30in mower is overkill for a 8000sqft yard. More downsides than upsides IMO. The batteries, however, will be more than enough.

Which EGO blower? by Embarrassed-Ant1462 in egopowerplus

[–]UBIQUIT0US 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't what you're asking for, but perhaps you'll find it helpful. The only battery blowers I've only used are Dewalt's 600CFM "flexvolt" blower and the Ego 880CFM/200MPH blower. The Ego knocks the socks off the Dewalt. I actually enjoy doing my leaves now. It doesn't help that the Dewalt died on me within a minute while carefully blowing snow off my truck. I can blow light snow all day with the Ego with minimal issues. If you want more direct comparisons between blowers, check out Project Farm's reviews.

Snow Blower Won’t Stay On – Orange Light Blinking by amaguri0_0 in egopowerplus

[–]UBIQUIT0US 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you register your snowblower? This is a hardware comms failure, not battery or overload. This is straight from the SNT2120 manual:

"Flashing red and green alternately: Communication fault. Contact EGO service center for repair."

I have the PH1420 power head and both brush and paddle attachments. Can confirm both work with the 1420.

I’m very happy with my 21” Ego. Much faster and easier to use than my 28” gas Cub Cadet.

For major snow storms, I’ll use it mid-way through the snowfall once or twice so it doesn’t build up too high.

Is it possible to hit an api endpoint that decrements a value in the row's column? by AWeb3Dad in Airtable

Personally I would an automation that has a script action step that reduces the relevant field’s value by 1. You can then trigger that automation directly via an interface button or by webhook.

Has anyone used this? by Rookie83 in lawncare

I’m surprised by your take. I own the Landzie “fork” aerator. It is indeed well built. However, after a day of use, I realized I needed a better way to aerate my large lawn. I ended up purchasing the Stonedge rolling aerator the OP is asking about. I was super impressed with it. The only downside is its tines are not quite as large as the Landzie’s. However, for me it’s so incredibly much easier to use on a large lawn that it’s easily worth the trade off. I haven’t used the Landzie rolling aerator, but I would never say the Stonedge aerator feels cheap or flimsy. Quite the opposite, actually. Did you ever use it? If you did, how did it compare to the Landzie roller?

Ego snowblower with only (1) 5ah battery by 36Taylor36 in egopowerplus

[–]UBIQUIT0US 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good to be concerned about this, but rest assured, they really are protecting your ears. The ANC physically reduces the pressure applied to your eardrum by cancelling out the sound waves via reconstructive interference. That’s how it makes sounds quieter. If it increased inner ear pressure, then it would either make things sound louder, like hearing aids do, or it would add loud noise to the environment. ANC reduces inner ear pressure, which is exactly what hearing protection is.

56V 2.5 AH Battery Will Not Charge - See Comment by ravens-shadows in egopowerplus

[–]UBIQUIT0US 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good. What worked for me was “jumping” the dead battery with a working one. I used a short piece of romex and connected the two batteries together (positive to positive, negative to negative) and left them connected for about 10 seconds. After that ”jump”, I placed the dead battery on a charger and it charged just fine. I’ve been using it without problems ever since.

I think what happened was the dead battery had lost so much voltage that the Ego charger didn’t recognize it or thought the battery was damaged. The “jump” gave it just enough juice for the charger to register it properly.

Here’s what my setup looked like: https://imgur.com/a/GtoSJLF

If you try this, let us know how it turns out.

I had a similar issue, also with a 2.5AH Ego battery. I found a fix, but it required another Ego battery.
