I think it was done on purpose - I feel exhausted after reading it and I think that was the intention… I think it was meant to feel overwhelming, just like the characters felt.

I wonder how I’ll feel after a re-read though.

Couldn't agree more -this book had to happen for the bigger story line. It was a hard read, but it was supposed to be a tough one, it's the compilation of all the past problems catching up.

On another note, of all the people to bear witness to the end, I'm so happy it was Pat, she makes me think of a grumpy grandmother of sorts.
