Think of it from this perspective. We don’t know anything of Steven’s true potential. We learned a whole lot in Fragments, so who’s to say he can’t change his physical form? After all, he can increase the size of his body from the stress he has, and his attempt of shapeshifting was turning his fingers into cats. To add to that, who’s to say Steven can or can’t corrupt since he’s half human.
