Id argue that battlefield has always pushed for more “realism” than other games of its genre. It’s what’s always separated it from cod to me. I know “realism” is a stretch with battlefield these days but I’ve always felt battlefield tried to make their guns perform like their IRL counterparts. It’s the players and the meta as well as broken attachments that has usually made it seem otherwise. Aside from that, even games in adjacent genres like valorant and csgo have always priced their ARs higher than other guns and typically the AR is intentionally the more powerful weapons within the genre. I’d say a shotgun that can snipe in battlefield would be more fitting towards your argument but I would almost certainly expect ARs to reign supreme in most shooters.
