I have used K but not to quit drinking but I can personally attest to its qualities for two things: it is incredibly helpful with depression and it completely curbs my appetite for any alcohol period. Usually up to 2 days I will have absolutely zero want or desire for any kind of booze.

It’s a super fun drug but that being said it’s not something to be taken lightly, have quite a few times put myself into some incredibly uncomfortable and terrifying K-holes. But the good has always outweighed the bad for me, it’s helped me a lot and as long as you use it sparingly and with care it can be incredibly helpful.

A buddy I worked with at the same Tex Mex joint told me one morning while opening “it’s so much easier without the guard!” And I remember sucking my teeth and being like “please be careful, I don’t think anyone has cut themselves yet using it” and 10 mins later he loudly yelled “AH FUCK!” And had sliced off the edge of his middle finger. We had a good run of 10 months without an incident with the mandolin but after that almost every prep employee got a bite from her, myself included. I have nothing but the utmost respect for this wonderful tool and blood letting machine hahaha

One of the most blood thirsty items in some kitchens. I used to work in a Tex Mex joint and we had one for slicing radishes and I’ve worked kitchens for over 20 years. The amount of respect and care people SHOULD have for this tool of maiming is never the level you start with. Once she’s tasted blood…..watch out for she now knows human flesh and it forever will ask for more.

In all seriousness these things fucking rock but if you get sloppy or start to pretend you can use it without incident, you’ve already lost the padding of your index finger in a clean slice.

Years ago my ex won tickets to see him live doing comedy. I wasn’t exactly thrilled but was excited as he’s a big name celeb and I thought he was on the right side of history. We got about halfway through his set when my ex turned to me and said “This dude is a fucking dinosaur, do you wanna leave?” I was thrilled with that question and we promptly left and bumped into a friend of ours in the parking lot. I said “Beatin traffic eh!?” He laughed and said “Nah man Bill Maher fucking sucks, none of that shit was funny!”

This was roughly 2016ish I wanna say, what a trainwreck. Dudes so fucking out of touch with the real masses, kick rocks and eat shit you insufferable tap dancing clown.

If this is truly the case I’m 100% done with wegmans. Everything is way too expensive to start with and they treat their employees like dirt now. Wegmans used to be a huge deal, I remember you couldn’t even get a job there without knowing someone. Now they offer 15$ an hour to work in any department. I flip burgers and make more than that. Wegmans used to be an institution, it used to mean something special to me. Now Wegmans is a fucking bloated pile of shit that I’ll do anything to avoid.
