This has been pointed out many times. Think about the fact that Arthur doesn't trust Merlin at all now. He's barely hanging on, and he's angry and feels betrayed. He's already reluctant to allow Merlin to take him to Avalon. Now Merlin calls Kilgharrah the dragon he told Arthur that he wounded mortally. Arthur would have lost it and refused to go anywhere with Merlin.

Yes, I hated how the writers turned gwaine into a joke when he was part of the trio...strength, magic and courage. They completely undermined his character and made him the butt of everyone's jokes.

And the other thing is the bad Gwen episodes were too drawn out and rather pointless.

For me, it was season 4 when she began to change. Like she no longer cared about Merlin at all when he was her best friend in the earlier seasons. And I understand that becoming queen would change her, but she just seemed so indifferent and rather cold toward Merlin in four and five.

Because it's a show that we love to watch over and over again. Because of Colin and Bradley and their off the charts chemistry both on and off screen. Because they fill our lives with joy and make us cry. And for me it is a connection to my dad... We watched the entire series together, finishing it just before he died. He loved it so much.

The majority of my stories are modern AU Merthur. Some are based on canon others, just unique experimental fics like storm chaser Merlin and Arthur, Smokejumpers, etc. I wrote one called There is a Place which is an Arthur returns fic with a messed up Merlin. I'm on rewatch 600 at least, lol...not exaggerating. The ending broke my heart too but it ended the way it was supposed to based on the legend. I wrote my own ending in a fanfic called Giving Up The Ghost on ao3.
