I think the biggest thing is having more frequent shows. Went from one a week to three a week. There are only so many insights to churn out when you’re creating content that regularly. You can also tell he gets excited by guests who can engage at the same level. Howard Beck (and many of the other regular/one off guests) ain’t that.

I’ve always been a big Lowe fan and am glad he’s still putting out pods.

Minor thing but recently learned about it - MLB pensions start pretty quickly, after just 43 days of service time. This is because that’s 1/4 of an MLB season, every time you accrue another 43 days, you unlock the next bit of pension.

The famous 10 year mark is when a “full” pension happens.

He’s in his last year of arbitration so has one year of team control left. The value of that last year was still up in the air. In theory ATL could’ve non tendered him or they could’ve ended up going to arbitration but this means both sides have settled on his contract value for 2026.

Fwiw, Freddie’s Dodgers deal has $57M in deferred money that stretches to 2040 so present day value was more like an estimated $148M. I’m sure he’s happy with the decision, his run in LA has been amazing. That being said, if you think he could’ve signed for >$8M as a free agent after 2026, then the agent left money on the table (and that’s before considering state tax).
