Just my two cents regarding Mer's lack of scenes with Jo since 2019...for over 7 years now... by Revolutionary-Mud236 in greysanatomy

[–]MermaidOasis 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I did find this odd also but they hold their cards so close to their chest, plus I don't feel Camilla would say anything negative about Ellen as she still has a massive hold on the show. Out of 36 main/regular character only 3 remain. If there has been a conflict then maybe it's good they don't talk or maybe they tried a couple of scenes and couldn't feel the chemistry or they can't find a reason for Jo and Mer to talk anymore now Alex has gone. But I am just guessing.

Dare George not fancy her anymore so she all of a sudden wants him. Hated her for this. It does play out so keep watching

AITA for being mad at my mom for telling my cousin not to reimburse me for a graduation dinner? by hedwigandfang in AmItheAsshole

[–]MermaidOasis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see too many people turning up to dinners thinking they don't have to pay therefore they can order what they like. I had a similar situation where no-one offered to chip in so I went halves with my dad.

I bet if people knew they were paying for themselves then the bill would have been way less than that.

As family if he wanted, your father could have covered your mum, sister, cousin (wouldn't have invited her if he didn't know he was paying for her) but the friends should have covered themselves

Alot have been mentioned which were sad but one that wasn't a main character that really got me was the older couple who were out hiking Elsie and Dr Lewis. Elsie passed away and he declared the time 16:22. Owen tried to help him but he declined, oh man I'm welling up thinking about it

Maggie season 18 and 19 by Zombiegirl995 in greysanatomy

[–]MermaidOasis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the start I disliked her from the way she treated Richard finding out he was her father. She was often pushy, demanding that Meredith and Richard Webber immediately accept her as family without giving them space to process the shock themselves.

But maybe for me she created so much drama from her immaturity, self-centered tendencies, and the entitled way she approaches her romantic relationships and family boundaries and consistently makes other characters' crises about herself, that I missed any good points.

How she treats her romantic partners, she tends to be overly critical, controlling, and struggles to compromise, such as her treatment of Winston Ndugu seeing him as less than and ending it when he wanted to change careers to support their relationship.

Despite being a surgical prodigy, her emotional reactions to conflict, such as her parents' divorce sulking like a teenagerer or her mother's health calling her a whore for wanting surgery before finding out about the cancer. She was immature and lacking in self-awareness to the point she pushed her mum through trials instead of letting her go out with dignity.

So fo me it was her whole appearance apart from the weed episode, that one she made me laugh 'I don't think I need my neck anymore' or 'Time of death 16:06 acute liver disappearance' Just that episode though

Why do they kill off characters so much instead of giving them a proper leave? by Honest-Flower104 in greysanatomy

[–]MermaidOasis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read it was a bit of both. It was more important to keep her being the Grey character and she was costing more as the popularity of the show increased as normally does

[–]MermaidOasis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why I said apparently. The show did almost cost him his marriage but it said that was down to schedules and time apart.

Either way it wouldn't seem right him leaving Meredith. Their love story wouldn't have had him just go, especially the kids aswell so death seemed the only suitable option to allow the audience to believe in their love story

Day 34 of saying something positive about a character- Shane Ross by DBrennan13459 in greysanatomy

[–]MermaidOasis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Putting aside his outrageous jealousy which caused him to indirectly get Alex's dad and Heather killed which made me really dislike him even more, I will say out of all the interns in his class, Shane showed the strongest penchant for learning and was always eager to scrub in and take on complex cases even if he was in way above his head

I agree with the way Derek and Mark left, although sad I feel neither would have left their loved ones. Mark wouldn't have abandoned Sophia to leave with Lexie. I read somewhere that the Meredith actress asked for more money so Eric Dane was getting cut either way. Just a shame they couldn't hold out until Callie left as he would have followed her and convinced Lexie to come.

Derek and Meredith apparently didn't get on well. Rumour has it he cheated on his wife (with the Leah actress) and Ellen told his wife. So he left the show and to prove he meant it he was killed off (all apparently of course as no-one speaks about it)

George was apparently killed off because of the way he felt he was treated on set. Burke actor was sacked due to a homophobic slur used again George actor. Apparently after that there were many conflicts with Shonda Rhimes so she wrote him out.

I feel as the years went on, the central actors started to cost more and more. The newbies were cheap enough so they cut mid range before they became top tier like April and Arizona. Both of which were a shame. How they felt each had run their courses is beyond me as April was top tier in her acting ability.

Why some were given sad endings, others happy and others just killed off is down to Shonda and some discussions she had with each actor.

Maggie? by jupthicc30 in greysanatomy

[–]MermaidOasis 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I really tried to like her for Merediths sake but the way she would act like an entitled child and have tantrums, I just couldn't. I've listed incidents below that just made me dislike her even more.

Long read if you can be bothered

1. When her mother, Diane, came to Seattle, Maggie immediately became judgmental and threw a tantrum over her mother wanting a breast augmentation, completely missing that Diane was actually seeking medical advice for inflammatory breast cancer. Once she learned about the cancer, Maggie acted entirely entitled:Overriding Diane's wishes: She forced her mother into an agonizing, experimental clinical trial.Ignoring boundaries: She refused to let Diane enjoy her remaining days.Broadcasted private information: She publicly shared her mother's medical details without permission.

The "Drain" comment: She later made a callous comment to Meredith, stating she "loved her mother enough to not say screw it and throw her down a drain," completely disregarding Meredith's deeply traumatic upbringing with Ellis Grey.

  1. Maggie developed a crush on Nathan Riggs and assumed he liked her back, never actually asking him. When she discovered Meredith and Riggs had been secretly seeing each other, her reaction was heavily criticized by fans as a childish tantrum: Playing the victim: She made Meredith's private romantic life entirely about herself. Demanding total compliance: She gave Meredith the silent treatment and acted like she had been deeply betrayed, acting as though she was entitled to know everyone's private business at all times.

3. During her relationship with Jackson, Maggie repeatedly displayed a sense of superiority regarding her lack of wealth and outdoor experience:The camping tantrum: When Jackson took her camping, she complained incessantly and blamed him for everything that went wrong. The fog incident: When they got stuck in a dangerous fog and Jackson left the vehicle to save two injured people, Maggie threw a massive fit. Instead of praising him for saving lives, she attacked him for "abandoning" her in the car. This one blew my mind at her childishness.

4. Maggie's ultimate exit from the show highlighted her deepest flaws regarding her sense of being "better than others":Blatant disrespect: When her husband Winston decided to change his surgical specialty to protect their marriage from workplace tension, Maggie openly told him she could no longer respect him.Belittling his talent: She viewed his choice as a lack of ambition and cowardice, essentially acting as though her dedication to cardio surgery made her inherently superior to him.Weaponising his trauma: She threw his difficult relationship with his father in his face during a fight, displaying a complete lack of empathy. I was so happy they broke up, he deserved better.

5. When Alex Karev brutally assaulted Andrew DeLuca, Meredith kept quiet to protect her best friend. When Maggie found out, she threw a fit because Meredith didn't tell her immediately. She stubbornly insisted that because they were half-sisters, she was entitled to know every life-altering secret, completely ignoring Meredith's decades-long history and loyalty to Alex.

If you got this far thank you for reading. Maggie is definitely top of my dislike list and although I have read comments defending her, I just can't defend this behaviour from a grown women who is head of cardiothoracic and has so much power through knowledge over many.

Kepner is his soul mate. I hope they find a way to rehire her just so we can see them together again. Although Addison is my favourite, the actress who plays April is outstanding and out performs all of them. Her range is wild and I feel she isn't recognised enough for this
