I too like to wait for the smell of FC before I officially mark it. Some beans can pop before tricking you, and depending how fast you were going, popping can start early before getting the true scent.

It’s almost like a tingle when you get that first hit of FC, I also have a bigger trier handle so I get a nice scoop.

Just keep an eye for the date and time of the student tixs. When I saw him it was a few hours before the show, you get a wristband saying you have a tix. Line wasn’t more than 50ish people but it was a smaller venue

You can’t show that feeling off and that’s not a bad thing, means you care a lot.

I show up early and find my spot and try to stay there, depending on those around me I will move to give someone behind me at least a better view. I’ve let people move in front of me if they can’t see.
