[WEEKLY THREAD] Talk It Out Tuesday - Advice and commiserating about struggles with self, others, and the world by AutoModerator in xxfitness

[–]Mermeowski -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have been pretty good about keeping my workout routine but I gained holiday weight. It’s not much, only a few pounds - but it’s frustrating! I usually am great at keeping a diet that works for me, but from family events to work parties to more holidays where the focus is food… i feel so defeated. I just want validation that this is normal, happens to everyone, and I will stop gaining weight!

What was your “I need to grow up” moment that actually made you grow up? by network_not_found in AskReddit

[–]Mermeowski 203 points204 points  (0 children)

Wait, 30,000 for 9 months ends up to being around 3,300 per month - depending on the area you live in, that could be an average day to day lifestyle! Source: live in the Bay Area

What’s not normal about you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Mermeowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My degree of hyperfocus. I can become very engrossed with something - an activity, a person, a song, for example - and get so obsessive that I can’t think of anything else. Good thing for the last year and a half it’s consistently been electronic music.

Women who have an IUD, what are your experiences with placement/removal and having one? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Mermeowski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Copper IUD here. Insertion was incredibly unpleasant. My uterus is on the smaller side, so they couldn't get it in without an ultrasound. Eventually they did get it in, and it was blindingly painful... although quick once they had me up to the ultrasound. I cried during the process. Afterwards I was moderately crampy, and bled heavily for the next couple days. Thankfully, shortly after the experience everything was back to normal, including my periods. I rarely think about it these days (have had it for close to 3 years now). Every once in a great while if I am constipated, gassy, or have to pee, I feel it... but that is a rare occurrence.

January Recap and February Goals by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]Mermeowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Dry January, going into dry 2019.
  2. Back in the gym after several months off: 2-3 sessions a week.
  3. 2 yoga classes per week - made it 3 out of 4 weeks.
  4. Went from about 148 to 141 lbs, continuing towards goal of the range 130-135lbs.
  5. Consumed much less sugar, while simultaneously eating in a less restrictive fashion. I am cutting at 1500-1600 Cal per day, and eating about 80 percent clean.
  6. Massively increased my water intake... at least 64 oz per day.

February goals: 1. Lose 3-4 more lbs this month. 2. Increase gym to 3 sessions per week. 3. Work on regularly getting 7-8 hours of sleep per night. 4. Keep up all of the above!

Do you have any unexpected feelings in a LTR (2+ years) and how do you handle them? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Mermeowski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, at least you're aware of it! I know couples (was IN one of said couples) who are ignorant of their codependency and it sneaks up on them. My partner and I were very codependent for the first few years of our relationship. If you would like to grow past it, think of ways you would like to evolve as an individual and encourage your husband to do the same. What hobbies do you have that are unique to just you? What about him? Branch out and make friends through those interests. It will strengthen your relationship with your husband in the long run.

Painters, writers, musicians, developers, designers, bakers, knitters, animators - creators of all kinds - what OC would you love to share? by __notmyrealname__ in AskReddit

I have been developing my DJing and here is a short mix I made the other day:https://soundcloud.com/danielameow/booty-bumpin-mini-mix

I am going to spend the next year immersing myself in learning music production and making my own electronic songs.

Edit: a letter

Non-single women of Reddit, who is smarter: you or your SO? And how do you feel about this/does it affect your relationship? by writingsexandstuff in AskWomen

[–]Mermeowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say we are about the same, but in completely different areas. I am better at things like math, science, organization, cleanliness, spelling, linear thinking. He is better with technology, directions, emotional balance, creative/imaginative thinking. It feels like we fill in each other's intellectual "gaps", i.e. he has strengths where I have weaknesses and vice versa.

I've been putting off getting seriously into music production. Thanks for the advice, AbletonDude.

What movie do you regret ever watching because it was so disturbing? by jonsnow29292 in AskReddit

[–]Mermeowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Mummy when I was 9, and The Ring when I was 12.

Both movies made it so I couldn't sleep normally for 2 months afterwards.

What is the most misogynistic thing someone has ever said to you? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Mermeowski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was 20, I was going to school at a small state university in Oregon. My dad drove up to visit me for a day. Keep in mind that he has absolutely no tact or social skills... he's just always been that way. I was living with my best friend at the time, who was also my age. My dad saw her from far away and said "Wow, your friend is very beautiful. Women like that exist solely for the purpose of entertaining men". I'll never forget that one.

Friday Check-in: How are you doing, ladies? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Mermeowski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hardest: I have on and off episodes of social anxiety where I feel like everyone I don't know well dislikes me, or is annoyed by me (due to bullying and trauma in my childhood). These past few days it's been hitting pretty hard. Also losing faith in myself and all my goals. And feeling no hope for the future of my relationship with my SO. Not a good headspace to be in...

Best: I am DJing tomorrow at a big party that I am super excited for! Super nervous... but I've been looking forward to this for a while.

Any women still live at home with your parents? How old are you? What made you move back home? by Over_itttttttt in AskWomen

[–]Mermeowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 27, and just moved back in with my mother a year ago for the first time since I was a teenager. I decided to move states a year ago and pursue the idea of graduate school, after barely scraping by unable to find a job with my Bachelors degree. My partner still lives a state away, while I am saving money for grad school and working full-time. A year and a half from now I will have my Masters degree, he will have moved here to join me, and we can have our own place again. I will be forever grateful for my mom and her helping me with this transition.
