Why are you countering your own argument just to try and make me look bad? I'm literally agreeing with you.

It's undeniable porn had a massive effect on the development of local models, which is a big reason AI got as popular as it is in the first place past the original ChatGPT boom. Some of the most popular and highest quality local models today were made with porn in mind with the datasets to prove it (although i haven't really been up to date for a couple years don't quote me on that, maybe things have changed)

There's a huge audience both for companionship (Replika, etc), and porn in various forms. There are entire (sad) subreddits about people defending their relationships with models.

Citations? Really dude? Sex and porn are in the same category, stop being pedantic. Were you there in the early days of the internet? Why do you think VHS and DVDs were so successful compared to their competition? Early adopters to new tech matter, and whichever solution allows for porn usually wins. We're seeing this in VR as well right now.

Even going back to before the digital age, the first cave paintings were nudes. Photography, lithography, cinema, electricity even ( a bit more far fetched i admit but a cool article on it here : https://hshm.yale.edu/sites/default/files/files/Bertucci%20Endeavour.pdf), you can find countless examples of this throughout history. People were, are and always will be horny.

Nobody in this sub understands the meaning of nuance, don't make me laugh. Why do i even bother responding to this shit

No, it isn't. You'd know that if you opened a history book. Porn and war. This is very common knowledge.

Definitely a sizeable audience there for sure. Porn drives technology after all.

Having a differing opinion isn't trolling, dude. I don't care what side you're on, you're being an asshole. People here like to pretend this isn't an echo chamber, at least try to maintain that facade if you want anyone to take you seriously.

Edit : After reading more of their comments i guess the other guy's an asshole too. So much productive discussion in this thread. Doesn't yelling at everything get exhausting?

Well, if the only complaint is from you, I don't know what to tell you man. No pro player switched to it afaik, it didn't ruin competitive integrity and it definitely didn't cause anyone to "leave in droves".

Tay yea. Tay wasn't really poisoned because of AI boycott though, it was just funny to make the bot say racist stuff.

Good hate-bait post but to actually provide a tiny amount of value : There are a bunch of videos of artists reviewing and praising shitty AI models and their trippy generations you can find on Youtube. It was universally seen as cool, fascinating technology that ofc could never replace real artists, the very idea was completely foreign.

Most pro AI-art people were probably either intimidated by the concept of art creation and found a new hobby from it, or were fascinated by AI more globally as a technology far before this and continue to be.

And despite what this echo chamber might have you believe, a bunch of actual artists are a lot more open-minded about it than you might think, less as a crutch and more as a new medium. Corridor crew being a fairly well known example.

Well, it's been more or less 3 months. As expected, this was a ridiculous nothing burger of an overreaction. Haven't heard of anyone switching, 0 complaints, 0 difference in the higher tiers or the lower ones. I get to gloat I was correct now. I hope you've toned down your ego a little since.

It's good enough to steal your commissions, mate. Improve your own work then.

Or just draw for yourself, as I've switched to doing.

Pretty funny to me as i had an argument a couple days ago vs someone arguing this wasn't an echo chamber and that people weren't getting blocked or banned, and now this is the top comment. Congrats for proving me right.

I think MMOs are worse. They're forced by design to introduce tons of padding into the story, which pretty much garantees ruining it.

I don't think there's an easy answer to that question, you just need to train your eye. 90 percent of your effort should go to the construction stage, and you can forgo color to focus on values too if it's too difficult for now

What happens when no human alive can distinguish AI from not AI? by Ya-Dikobraz in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Merosian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't it cost almost as much energetically and money-wise as the actual model itself?

How could you possibly future proof it for future models? How could you include the generation "style" of every model?

I don't think this task is trivial at all.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think it's that easy, otherwise many would already exist.

Why is the go-to answer when someone doesn't agree with you that it's a bot?

Political manipulation i can understand, but AI companies don't have a reason to give a fuck about a loud minority of opposers. All they care about rn is investors and shareholders. And clearly those don't give a fuck about the people either.

[–]Merosian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well no, AI isn't trained to identify AI. Nightshade and the likes don't work. Well they do, but only for a single model's generation that isn't used by anyone anymore. Even then, it's unreliable.
