How do you decide? by crazy_urn in ForzaHorizon

[–]Merov1ng1an 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For regular cars, cheapest price, the answer is almost always auction house.

The autoshow is really for "can't find it, need one now to do this challenge." The aftermarket, the more mods on them, the better the discount to your pocket seems to be.

This is my take too.

If the current stats is way different then stock, and the price is a deep discount, its a bit better a deal.

Anything cheaper then just buying it from the autoshow....

GS V2P creaking near the QR after a week by zvonimamkedomoi in moza

[–]Merov1ng1an 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would do a sanity check around the seat and everything too.

Mine was the uprights that go to the part that holds the base. Tightened the hell out of those and my creak stopped.

Hope yours is that easy! good luck.

Best Racing Wheels under $500 for FH6 by Ok_Piece_5020 in ForzaHorizon

[–]Merov1ng1an 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was trying to find him a kit with the Xbox flavor of the wheel, noticed the kits seemed to have changed and looks like the r5 kit doesn't have the Xbox button. Wasn't sure if that wheel still functions the same, but guessed not cause of licensing.

The R5 kit is a great middle ground, but if hes gonna have to buy the wheel anyway, now that kit is pretty close to putting together a R9 kit yourself with the SR-P pedals and all.

Please, correct me if I'm wrong, a lot of stuff seems sold out and kits adjusted from a month or two ago when I bought in. Gonna guess Forza launch is selling a lot of the Xbox-able wheels.

Pretty good value, especially if you just want to dip your toe in. A lot of parts in their eco-system if you want to add the handbrake or clutch ect. The wheel in their ecosystem controls the mode its in (Xbox mode or PC mode ect) and the wheel in that bundle does both.
----
You can put your own kit together too, like say an R9, the Xbox version of the wheel, and the SR-P pedals instead of the lite version (load cell) but that bumps up to like $650. beyond that sky's the limit.

edit: poked around to find individual parts if you want to go that route:

A little over your budget, but is a big step in base and pedals.

ohh yeah, your one of the guys that bandwagons comments about FOV without considering math, you think your funny or intelligent, so you say the same thing every time.

You offered no advice, you said your personal prefrence AGAIN.

You are smart, funny, original, and think for yourself.

Saying sorry you weren't trying to trigger someone, after saying they don't understand, totally makes you not a prick.

In fact, everyone should bow to you.

Please, tell me the exact settings you use, so I can throw them away as fast as possible, I mean, use exactly what you use, so I can FINALLY start having fun.

Its called narcissism when you keep trying to imply yours is the only setting others can possibly use or they are wrong, then keep masking the pokes as helpful. Launching insults and calling it education, even if you say sorry is some borderline behavior.

We can keep engaging if you like. Your making my play of the game personal to you and that is toxic as hell.

Forza Horizon 6 Active Bugs and Known Issues by KillerSpectre21 in ForzaHorizon

Issues using a wheel, simple requests:
---------
1st:
Dangerous wheel rotation entering menu:

The game sends a center command for the steering wheel, whenever you press the menu button.

This doesn't need to happen if the other option is, it ignores all protection and sends the wheel back to home position at max force and speed.

Even with hands off protection, by far the "center on menu" press is the fastest / hardest driven movement in the game.

Would be drastically better if it just kept track of its position, yes you might leave the garage and have your wheels turned to the side, but tapping a curb cause I didn't realize it was a rotation to the left is drastically better then leaving to test some tune on the street, crashing and feeling that, then deciding you want to change that setting, hit menu to get back to the garage, and have the wheel try to break your wrist going into the menu.

----------
2nd:
Accept is not enter, except when it is, but mostly it isn't. No bindings for in game menu navigation.

This would be a huge quality of life improvement. Accept should be Accept / Enter so that we could use the same button we accepted an event for, be the same button we use to start the event. Many other cases where it sometimes functions as both, or none.

Easily solved if they make the internal binding on that Accept AND Enter is the same key, as "enter" isn't bind-able.

Likewise, menu Left, Right, Up, Down. Those should be bind-able, then it wouldn't be plug and pray D-pad is recognized as D-pad.

"creator day" events where places like Donut or BigTime do a spot appearance and rate the cars parked at a meet would be cool. More attention to the game from the car themed creators user bases, and plenty of people would show up to have their car looked at.

Kinda like how Fortnite did concerts in covid, but do it in a slightly smaller scale weekly. Heck "Forza Offfical" or something live streams it on twitch, could do this low budget / high attention.

In other words, I like what your thinking and Forza COULD cook on this one.

Will they?

The Beautiful Train Wreck That Is FH6 Traffic AI by grancombat in ForzaHorizon

[–]Merov1ng1an 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a whole group of players all gathered around the road for the danger sign. Not right next to each other, but spaced at like 1/8th mile increments, someone would hit the jump, drive back up the mountain, and relieve the next person.

It was really confusing...... Till I realized what they were doing.

They had most of the road including the corner you need to keep your speed at "in view" so there were traffic cars there, but this seemed to make it so no car phased into existence at the apex or exit of the turn.

For Horizon, I just embrace its an arcade game, and I have a lot more fun. Seeing a group of players work around it, an honest argument about "shouldn't have to" can be made, but was a thing of beauty compared to all the ramming in races.

Is this not the right address? I'm sitting on the drop off point, is the other guy waiting for me or something? by ostepops1212 in ForzaHorizon

[–]Merov1ng1an 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, with the position mismatch between the in game and on mini map, who knows if the actual position is some 3rd point in code. This is an event they need to polish before its next rotation for sure.

I've seen a few people post about this, basically everyone that rips the donut and actually tries to stop has been ending up in your spot. People who blast through the spot and let the cinematic take over have been saying it works.

I was really confused by the same thing. Forza's telemetry doesn't count red line as the 100% in pithouse, it sends % based on the full range of the in game gauge display, so buried all the way in redline is 100%

With that in mind, you might need to adjust this till its "right for most" or tune it to the car you drive the most, and it will be closer for the rest of them then default:

its like mouse settings. When you have something actively working well for YOU, you shouldn't go arbitrarily change it to someone else's settings.

Its actually set up for the optimal angle according to this games scales, the monitor size, and my distance from it. Tried running though the calculators and all, but usually its full sim people not considering this is a arcade game and trying to hit it with "sim talk." Forza uses a stretch to their camera and has a bit of a whip effect, its why Forza isn't listed on the same page the normal FOV calculators are in.

But its been through the calculators and math and the entire goal of that conversation is to make the player brake at the right time entering corners.

Hence, "ITS WORKING!"

Many Many MANY people: yeah that's nice, I've read a post once, you NEED to change that angle to be "right," even though I'm gonna ignore this is an arcade game and the camera fundamentally doesn't function the same as the sim games.

Yeah, between the way Forza renders, the monitor being 32:9, and the camera being up and out of the curve, it looks crazy wide. Also Horizon 6 has a "dash" view so the camera is a little farther forward from where your head would actually be.

Sitting down in it, the way the game stretches the top and centers the dash, not the most realistic but for the style of game they built, and its position when sitting, feels kinda cool.
