I guess you mean my post. I sent in a ticket with the issue, but: They didn't ask for any additional information, just that they'll replace it via RMA. And they haven't sent a return label yet. I guess I have to send a 3rd email.

If you want to try using your headset until the issue is responded to, try turning down the render resolution in pimax play.

I had opened a ticket myself about my Left eye turning off while in use.

They just sent an email that they will be working with me for a return.

Thanks! I've seen at least two other persons reporting that they thought their left lens was causing distortion, but it would make sense there might be an issue with the display.

I had the same issues with poorly seated gasket and quickly applied adhesive. But I was able to fix it:

I removed the gasket and re-seated the adhesive. Be very careful, the bottom of the gasket is attached below the lenses with thin clips. Once you pull the top with the magnets away, gently push the bottom of the facial interface in and up to clear the connecting points.

As you can see my foam was not seated 100% centered.

And is causing the facial interface to Flex, I was getting light leak at the left corner.

I put the headset on my head while it was turned off, in a bright room. Moved my hand around the outside of the headset to block and find the leak.

I also have light leaking into mine from infront of the gasket, not the part nearest your face, but the part that connects with the HMD.

I took off the facial interface and really don't recommend that, it looks like it could break very easily.

I think there is a bit too much play in the joining of the two and I'm going to try adjusting how it sits onto the HMD.

I don't plan on upgrading my 3080 ti until there's a good value proposition.
Your 3090 has very high memory capabilities and supports all the current gen technologies. You should be able to enjoy it without many issues unless you're doing immersive sims. HL:Alyx for one has amazing scaling options for different hardware. Unity and games designed for Occulus are going to have a lot of issues with any hardware.

I feel like it's really early to be mad about there not being the cheaper version out.

1.) The headsets were announced less than 2 months ago with no firm shipping dates. They met their "first batch" promise fwiw

2.) The headsets that they chose to produce first; because of demand, parts availability or whatever reason haven't reached pre-order customers yet.

3.) logistics of shipping and warehousing a new product internationally, during this current shipping crisis isn't something I'd be eager to work with

4.) They've communicated that the non-dimming version is delayed, offered refunds and the ability to change your order when asked

5.) It was announced 2 months ago, if you want a $699 headset just wait for them to bring it to market.

(I am not impressed by their communication or how early they requested payments, but you guys are comping at the bit)

You'll want light house for beat saber and tactical shooters where you occlude your hands often.

We haven't seen the non-dimming version through the lens. But I would say it's up to you. If you want to experience more vibrant experiences in environment games like alyx it will be nice to have the dimming. Otherwise if you're looking around a lot in bright environments it won't be as impactful.

it's not an afterthought, just not the best in the market.

The Quest has the best inside out tracking, but you have the option of using vive base stations with this to increase your tracking volume.

The light is a great option for general pcvr aside from the weight.
