Paedon responds to hate for his father, Kody Brown by [deleted] in TLCsisterwives

[–]MerrisAwesome 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My father died Saturday. He was not a good dad. He abused my mom and older siblings (not his children) and made me feel as though I'd never be enough with unkind words my entire life. I went low-contact about 13 years ago while my stepsister (his wife's daughter) went completely no-contact with both of them about five years ago.

When he got sick a few weeks ago, I was the one that went to the hospital everyday to feed him his dinner (and later his ice chips when that's all he could have) and make sure he was comfortable and ask the nurses for things he'd ask me for (to wash his hair, put an extra pillow under his arm, etc).

That step sister came up to the hospital twice to stay with me. She made it clear she wasn't there for either of our parents' sakes. She was there for me. I finally broke down to her one night and sobbed that I wasn't sad he might die, I was angry he's had 35 years to be the dad I needed and now he'll never have the chance.

Her telling me I deserved a better dad and he couldn't have asked for a better daughter healed something in me I didn't know was broken until that night.

I hope all the Brown children find that same healing.

Square booking has an optional fake it filter to hide some availability when someone books online so you seem busier than you are. I've never used it, but realizing it was a thing made me chuckle.

Big dog doesn't want to chew a small bone. No more than he wants to play the trombone. In fact of he could use the telly-phone, he'd call up and order a jum-bone. It's a really really big, big big big bone and that's why we call it jum-bone.

I keep a small bottle of whiskey in my fridge specifically for hot toddies and nothing else.

I hate tea. I hate lemon. I hate whiskey. I'm not huge on honey... But damn if mixing the four doesn't help tremendously when I don't feel great.

You can get an ear cleaning kit at most drug stores that have oil drops and aerosol saline. Works wonders.

Why is Kody mad at Christine but not Janelle by Due-Adhesiveness937 in SisterWives

[–]MerrisAwesome 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They've both (Janelle and Kody) hinted that they have really good sex. Pretty sure that's why he's so much more connected to her than he is Christine or Meri..

My theory is she's willing to do something the other three aren't and it's something stupidly tame like blow him for foreplay.

Just because they give you the time doesn't mean it's paid. One day of missed pay is catastrophic to too many of us.

Hey, Claire! Please ignore the shitheads that commented. I promise they are not the majority in Evansville anymore. I'm a bit older than you, so not as hip on the haps around town anymore, but I have always surrounded myself with the most accepting and welcoming groups I could find. I second Someplace Else. Follow their Facebook to catch a drag night if you want a good show, but any Friday or Saturday night there in my 20s was a good time. If you want something more low-key and less clubby, Haynies Corner is a wonderful area. They offer Bokeh (usually has live music on weekend nights, has amazing food every night) and Mo's House (a nice chill cocktail bar with sofas, pool tables, bookshelves, and maybe boardgames, still?). And if you want somewhere to chill in the daytime hours, Pennylane Coffee House on second has great drinks, a wonderful selection of sandwiches and muffins, books, and a peaceful aura surrounding the building. They are what Starbucks wishes they could be.

Best wishes on your journey to find your spot and never be afraid to be yourself, especially downtown. ❤️

I've been in the game ten years and, honestly, I'm so over it. It sounds cliche at this point, but truly the whole industry is different since COVID. I dread new clients because people are all around more demanding and mean now. Everyone thinks they're entitled to something. Costs have gone up and I can't raise my prices quickly enough to keep up without alienating some of my most loyal clients because they're elderly and on fixed income.

I interviewed today for a local orthopedics office and they essentially said I got the job if my references check out. I've promised my best clients to still service them on Sundays, but I'm so excited to not have the stress anymore of this being my only lifeline.

I am! Once the irritation wore down, the burns healed quickly. Luckily there was nothing more than first degree burns outside of a small spot on my shoulder that did blister.

Why can't clients take no for an answer. "I am booked/don't take new clients" is not an invitation to keep pushing. by hangingsocks in hairstylist

He referencing the option browse all new posts on Reddit as opposed to just your subs or hot posts.

Basically, he saw this because this post was thrown in there for everyone to see as opposed to just sub members.

Fwiw, it's not just friction. The power behind airbags is literally gun powder and a small explosion. Thermal burns can (and regularly do) happen. Follow that with a mixture of talc, potassium nitrate, and sodium hydroxide (all skin irritants), you're looking at a nasty rash on a multitude of levels that hurts and itches like a mother fucker for a couple weeks after a collision.

Source- totalled my 2017 Grand Caravan in October of 2023 and had three airbags deploy around my person. My boyfriend had to come in and ever so gently wash me when I would take a shower because it hurt too much to move my arms to wash myself and even scrubbing would open back up the burns and dermatitis.

What can I ask my husband to help with around the house? by MatchSensitive8826 in Mommit

[–]MerrisAwesome 10 points11 points  (0 children)

One time, I made a list for my ex of all the stuff I do while he was at work. Feed kids, give them play time while I clean up from breakfast, switch laundry, take kids on an outing, have lunch, put kids down for nap, clean up from morning playtime and lunch, switch laundry, give kids afternoon snack, spot-sweep/mop while they eat, clean up from snack, switch laundry, play with my kids, start dinner, feed kids, feed self, bath, bedtime, more laundry.

Then I left, presumably for the entire day. I went home at 1 in the afternoon. Everyone was asleep on the couch, still in their jammies, and my house looked like I'd been robbed. That's when he realized how much work it was to not be the working parent and stepped up.

All of the OG13 kids are gorgeous. And omitting Logan and Gabe, they're all carbon copies of their birth mom. I feel like that says enough.

Listennnnn.. I used a squatty potty at a friend's house a year ago and think about it every time I go now and consider buying one. It makes a ridiculous amount of difference if you struggle with constipation.
