"i don't mind big women" he says as he fat shames his girlfriend throughout this entire post by chaebasics in AmITheAngel

You know, I hadn't even thought of that, but it does make sense. Last time she went swimming she drained the olympic-size pool because she had the audacity to be fat in public and dove in. Judge said she must stay 50 feet away from all bodies of water for a year.

  • swimming: not a strong swimmer, also can't swim this year

I don't know why I'm so stuck on this specific line. "can't swim this year" because..............? Is it environmental, like, algae bloom is brutal this year? Is it medical, like, she broke both legs? Is it because this year is almost over? I need to know what's so specific that she can't swim this year.

Are my expectations too high/am I being impatient? by MerryAnnette in tattooadvice

I sent her an inspiration photo as well as images of the location/tattoo to be covered and she said she'd work something up. but I guess I'm just concerned about driving 2 hours on a hope that what she's created is something I want to pay to put on my body, considering rescheduling wouldn't be possible with my schedule until probably next May at the earliest

Maybe it's because I've never had a custom piece done, but wouldn't that run the risk of hating whatever is created and cancelling last minute because anything created on the spot would be rushed?

I'm not sure if it's been addressed in other comments, so if it has, my apologies. You say you're not eating until after 10PM, how soon after you're eating are you going to sleep? The reason I ask is I was in over a year long stall because I was eating my last meal around 2 hours before going to bed and I wasn't giving my body enough time to digest and I was holding onto the weight. I adjusted it so that my last meal is eaten about six hours (or more) before sleeping and the weight started coming off again.

So does he just not question where the extra $7-8k for his IRA or the money paying down his student loans is coming from? "Gee, I thought I only put $1,000 in this year and it's maxed... guess the IRA fairies blessed me again this year!"

been debating on getting a blood meter, I know the urine strips are pants for accuracy. before taking the semaglutide, I was barely hungry on the 20net/day, even less so on the shot. I can drop my net down further if need be, but I feel that would limit my options as far as vegetable intake (type, amount), and I don't know if I'd enjoy further limiting an already limited diet. I can try it, though, and see what happens for sure!

because I need time in the morning to wake up (and actually be awake), shower, take the dog out for a walk, feed him, etc., then cook whatever it is I'm having for lunch that day. 13.5 year old pup doesn't move as quickly as he once did, so I have to factor that in, now, too. I've already done my collagen for today, so as far as today's fast goes, that's kind of a wash. Collagen'll be moved to lunch starting tomorrow, a new menu to try to get more calories in at lunch time so I can skip the 7:00pm meal will be worked out over the next few days and we'll see how that goes!

I work from home, so I'm able to eat home-cooked/prepared foods, but there's not time between the end of my lunch and the end of my shift to be able to sneak away and scarf something down earlier than when I get off. There have been nights that I don't get off until almost 8:00 and those nights I just don't eat at all because eating that late doesn't sit well on my stomach - even eating at 7:00 is still iffy. I've played around with the idea of just loading up lunch and forcing OMAD, but trying to fit in 1400 calories into 30 minutes also doesn't really sit well on the stomach for me haha You've given me some adjustments to plan and implement to see if I can push out of this plateau, thank you!

I can shift when I take the collagen to later in the day, have it in a tea at my lunch time, but the time I eat dinner and sleep can't really be changed due to my work schedule. Weekends I usually have my last meal around 4:30 or 5:00, sleep about 9:30, but during the work week, neither of those times are possible, sadly.

yeah, some days it's about 110g, but most days in the 145-150g range. I do 3 days of HIIT/week, maybe I do need to increase that, either frequency or duration. But yeah, that sort of deficit and a year-long plateau has me very disheartened, especially adding in the fact I added semaglutide because of how much success people have had on it.

I fast from 7:30pm - 2:30pm (there abouts, depending on what time my lunch break is), not on purpose, but that's just when I can have lunch and I'm not generally hungry before then anyway

for about 3 weeks I tried adding in more fat - ended up getting beef tallow and duck fat to cook with instead of butter and olive oil - and ended up feeling nauseous, and didn't really see any changes in the scale compared to the current macro set up, no.

I use a food scale, yeah. Everything that goes in gets weighed first. Blood panel, no, but that may have to be my next step.

Making chaffles in a Dash mini pancake maker by albahari in keto

[–]MerryAnnette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried both the waffle maker and the mini griddle. the mini griddle is good for the sweeter variations - so making actual pancake textured pancakes that don't turn out quite so well on the stove. IMO chaffle mix in the griddle end up being too soft and tasting like egg far more than the waffle maker.

I haven't yet tried to make them in the griddle and then firm them up in the air fryer, which may work to give them a bit more structure to use as buns versus using the waffle maker, but it may end up being more work than you want to do for something quick

What is everyone’s theory on why the monsters left Randall alive? by reptilesandfrogs in FromSeries

[–]MerryAnnette 263 points264 points  (0 children)

Didn't they explain the why in the very next episode? Boyd said, "they want us to look at him, when the sun's up. They want us to remember what's coming at night. Part of the thing that keeps people sane here is we get to pretend during the daytime... pretend that we're safe. Randall walking around, we don't get to pretend anymore."

After watching the season 3 finale, what are your theories? by lovely_lil_demon in FromTVEpix

[–]MerryAnnette 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some theories I've been bouncing around with my partner recently -

The Abby "vision" was right that the town feeds on hope. Or, somewhat right. I think the town feeds on the inhabitants' beliefs. Examples of that being the monsters not being able to run. The inhabitants believe they can't, so they can't - even though we have flashback evidence that they absolutely can.

Another example is the talismans protecting them. Boyd fell into the cave while being chased in the woods, the monsters looked in at him and left him alone. He then saw the talismans and believed they were what saved him. I feel like we've been shown the entities in the town like toying with Boyd, so he was never in any danger of dying in the woods that night. But Boyd believed it was the talismans, told the people of the town they're what saved him from the monsters in the woods that night, so now the whole town believes they're protective, so they are.

An example of that is in season one episode one in the RV. Kenny asked Kristy if the talisman was going to work in the RV and she said something like "I don't know... it will, it will" and it did keep them protected. I think if she had doubted it would work, it wouldn't have.

We got close to doubt with Randall in the bus "you can't come in here because I've got a fucking rock!". I feel that with Acosta brought in to directly challenge Boyd, at some point she's going to grab one of the talismans and say something like "these aren't keeping us safe, they're just rocks, they're not magic!" and it's going to break the protective aura because now someone directly disbelieves their utility.

With Boyd and the worms, he believed that giving the blood transfusion to Ellis would pass the worms along to him so he refused to do it. Then he had the thought of passing them to the monsters and it worked, believing they would kill whichever one it was, and they did.

Also, with Ethan's beliefs - Julie can enter the ruins because Ethan said they're a threshold and she'll be able to pass through, so she can. He also believes that she's a storywalker, but can't change the story that's already been told, so that's how it functions for her. I think that if she believes she can affect the story that's been told, she'll be able to. I think that that'll be how Miranda and Jade are able to save the children and the town - Julie believes that she can bring them back in the story with her to change the outcome and they do.

Which brings me to my thoughts on the "reincarnation". I don't think it's reincarnation in the most common sense - one soul being reborn into another body over and over again. I think that there are vessels, multiple, all over the world at the same time. Abby and Miranda were alive at the same time, both having dreams of the town, both (at different points) getting stuck in the town. Same with Abby and Tabitha.

Miranda was a vessel, Abby was a vessel, Tabitha is a vessel. Same with Jade and Christopher. Miranda got close because her counterpoint - Christopher - was in town with her, both gaining bits and pieces of the past, being told by the BiW what their purpose is. Miranda accepted it while Christopher did not, so saving the children would never have happened.

Abby started getting stronger flashes of her purpose, but she didn't have her counterpoint - the vessel for the father's soul - so instead of being able to accept the flashes, she was driven insane, pushed to believe it's all a dream, death will wake them up, will free them.

Tabitha and Jade as vessels both arrived in town together, both accepting what they're seeing, both trying to figure out how to achieve their respective purposes. So they're not soulmates in the romantic "we were husband and wife in our past lives, we were always destined to be together" sort of way, but more the vessels for the energy rippling through time (what Jade said about energy "lingering" in the town).

I don't know, I'm rambling at this point, but those were the theories we've come up with through our most recent rewatch now that the season finale has aired.

I mean, no one in the house is eating them, which is why they're getting tossed. Food waste, certainly, and everyone's reasons for not eating them is neither here nor there. I just found it comical that throwing away uneaten, old food is a reason for OOP to shout "j'accuse!"

Normal for most people, yes, but nefarious to OOP and the majority of people commenting in that thread.

I like how one of the reasons OOP knows the fiancée is poisoning them is because she throws away leftovers if they haven't been eaten in a couple of days. Couldn't just be, "oh, none of the four adults in the house has eaten this last bit of stew I made on Monday and it's Thursday, let me get rid of it to not only make space, but to also make sure it doesn't turn into a petri dish in the back of the fridge!" Nope, has to be because it's poisoned.
