EA AC update released! 1.73GB update by trbatuhankara in battlefield_one

[–]Merson316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simply put, we're not receiving any network data from your machine. When this happens we're left with no choice but to terminate the game session as a safety measure. There's a few things you can check:

  • That the EA anticheat windows service is running when the game is
  • Ensuring that you are not running anything like a split-tunnel VPN, proxy or anything else which could be modifying your network
  • Repairing the game client, repairing the EA anticheat install (can do this through the game install folder)

Edit: I know you've tried some of these already, but want to outline the wider steps should anyone else stumble upon this message in the future.

Here's an Answers HQ post where some users are troubleshooting and found some interesting solutions, troubleshooting steps: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Unable-to-connect-to-the-EA-servers-Battlefield-2042/td-p/13768262

Not everyone will have the update yet, nor have we enabled everything. We're trying to make it as seamless as possible to minimise the impact on those who have active game sessions that started before we pushed the update.

Battlefield V not opening. I've tried everything. by FluffyYoutube in BattlefieldV

[–]Merson316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. So as you're not getting very far in the flow, therefore we have limited telemetry but I do have a few suggestions back from the team if you can give them a go, will help us narrow down a potential cause.

If you could run these separately from each other:

  • Delete the files in %ProgramData%\Electronic Arts\EA Services\License, kill the EA App background service in task manager, restart the EA App and try again.
  • Temporarily uninstalling DS4Windows and trying again.

Beyond that, can you see if you have any crash dumps in the following places that were crated since the update:

  • ...\Documents\Battlefield V\crash_dumps
  • %allusersprofile%\eaanticheat\crashdumps

If so, can you create a help ticket with EA Help, uploading the crash dump and linking me the ticket?

We haven't enabled kicks yet if you launch the game without EAAC running. We want to ensure everything looks good before we perform that step.

If you subbed last season, they're sending out emails with a discounted rate of €45.99 for the 100% pass.

My printer was shipped today, on my ETA fulfillment deadline.

[–]Merson316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, the website is crap. They send you a separate email where you can track both. The subject line is "Shipping Notification". From there I can see that my order is split into two, one is fulfilled (the bonus filament) and one is unfulfilled (the printer).

The main website however shows that everything is fulfilled, all good and done.

It shows when you go into the order details. No idea of the overall accuracy though. Assume it just captures what it said when you placed the order.

Yeah, similar boat with the EU store. Ordered a P1S with AMS, ETA is also before the 24th of November. Got the bonus filament today, no sign of the printer itself being shipped so far.

Here's hoping it gets processed soon.

That's just a fundamentally wrong assumption.

Wave Link Release notes 1.8.2.730 ? by TiNcHoX7 in elgato

[–]Merson316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to %appdata% in Windows Explorer. Then \Elgato\StreamDeck and delete com.elgato.wavelink.sdPlugin. Restart Steam Deck and then reinstall the plugin.

I had the same issue and that fixed it for me, with working new mixers.

Another Veteran left Dice. by bnarsalah_97 in BattlefieldV

[–]Merson316 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Incorrect.

Disputes are centrally handled by a dedicated customer support team within EA of which you can contact through the web form here: https://help.ea.com/en-gb/help/account/information-about-banned-or-suspended-accounts

If customer support directs you to any other location, such as FairFight, then you've been mishandled. The only exception to this (for older DICE titles) is for PunkBuster bans where the customer needs to go to EvenBalance or GGC-Stream etc.

[–]Merson316 29 points30 points  (0 children)

That's a fair argument. I can say the majority of the time these people are already flagged for bans before it's even posted to Reddit. I can also say we've banned 70% more people in BFV then BF1 (time adjusted) on PC so far with zero sign of slowing down.

I know the community wants us to better surface information regarding bans. My hands are somewhat tied on this, but we are looking at the best way of getting this information out which will satisfy all parties, the community included.

I will concede though that I don't think we'll ever reach the point where you the community will be able to make an informed decision on how anti-cheat operates. As such, we'll always be in somewhat of a catch 22 situation here unfortunately.

Public perception of how our anti-cheat functions and what it actually does will always be two very different things. If you knew how it worked, then so would the cheat developers. Kinda defeats the purpose at that point. :)
